It's a typical children's book and of course, you can feel that when you're reading it. It still has a moral or too - something that helps make the book universal and for all ages. It'll always be relevant, because it's about important themes like courage, heart, intelligens/wisdom. Those are very important themes, which makes this book a great choice, whether you're an adult reading for your own pleasure or reading for your child(ren). The characters of Dorothy and her dog Toto are amazing, they both play an important part in this book and they're great to follow. The adventures they go on...beautiful!
I was expecting the book to be more describing - something I'm not really a big fan of. Fortunately, that wasn't the case. The writing was easy and I didn't find it hard to understand, even though this book is over a 100 years old. It was a really good experience reading this book!
I really think you should read this book, whether it's for your own pleasure or reading it aloud for someone you love. And please go watch the 1939 movie as well! The trailer's really bad, I know, but the movie itself is stunning.
