I've had the set of six novellas that make up The Green Mile on my shelf for a long time. Recently I saw a number of post on Instagram about it and thought it was about time I gave it a go. I don't think I'll read them all at once, but I'll definitely get through them all eventually.

This one seemed to be a good set-up for what is to come. I saw the movie quite a while ago and don't remember too much about it, which might be a good thing. There's certainly a darkness to it, but it is Stephen King after all. I can't help picturing Tom Hanks as I read the story, narrated by the character he played in the movie. I think I'm going to enjoy this one.
