Quirky Cat
Book Summary:
Indigo Maxwell-Castenada is the luckiest man alive. He's always been fascinated by fairy tales. So imagine what it felt like for his dreams to come true – as he quickly found himself in the center of one.
He married a mysterious woman with dark secrets. All she ever asked of him was that he never delved into her past or looked into the shadows lurking behind her. A simple request, right? Perhaps for those that don't know the depth of folklore – and the warnings behind them.
My Review:
Yes! I've been SO looking forward to Roshani Chokshi's latest novel. Her world-building and storytelling style is fantastic. Let me tell you - The Last Tale of the Flower Bride is no exception to this rule.
The Last Tale of the Flower Bride is a twisty fairy tale, though, at times, it feels more like a thriller. The darker and gothic vibes are strong, and it is perfection. Combine this with the intrigue, and it's easy to see why so many people are talking about this book.
Speaking of, there are two primary perspectives to The Last Tale of the Flower Bride. That was a pleasant surprise. Rather than making the truth more apparent, the two seemed to help obfuscate the truth. Right up until the end, when everything clicked into place.
The Last Tale of the Flower Bride is the perfect book for fans of gothic fairy tales, intrigue, and surprisingly emotional and complex tales.
