I loved this book! Unlike anything I've read.

This was good, not great. I agree with a lot of the other reviews, that this read very much like a first draft. The characters are very one dimensional and the storyline very linear, that being said, it is a fairly short book and it kept me interested. Steven Spielberg is making it into a movie and I think it is very suited for that format, so should be interesting!

It's difficult to tell if Crichton ever intended this to be published, but for better or worse, it's a fun, over-the-top pirate adventure that was really easy to read.
