Carr weaved small-town life, and domestic issues into the tale while introducing new characters for readers to love. Seth Sileski grew up in Thunder Point and was the pride of town, until a car accident changed all that. He is back and ready to take over as the Sheriff, thanks to Mac’s promotion. Seth needs to find a way back to his best friend, neighbor and girl who holds a piece of his heart. Iris McKinley is trying to avoid Seth. He hurt her, and she refuses to fall back into their old routine, but Seth is determined to gain her friendship again and more…

While The Homecoming focuses on the romance between Seth and Iris, we do get some interesting side stories and one addresses a serious issue. Carr did her research, and enlightened while creating a suspenseful thread and introducing more characters to become invested in. I seriously want to back my bags and move. I love that I am now able to close my eyes and envision the main street, the local hangouts and the football field.
