Not gonna lie I was really nervous starting this book. I love Elena and I didn’t want to read about anyone else. Plus in the first books I hated Paige. A lot. Thank god Kelley Armstrong is amazing because I loved this book as much as the others. Paige does take some getting used to but then you read about her story and you start to feel bad. No wonder she’s so clueless sometimes! Her little witch coven is crazy. I’m actually really glad we got to read about Paige. And then Luke comes in. I didn’t think I’d find him attractive but do I ever! Savannah was great too. I felt so bad for her! I just loved all the character as much as the characters in the first two books. Kelley just has this way of making you love everybody even if you wouldn’t normally like them in real life. I like how real they are too. Everyone complains about Paige being stubborn sometimes but that’s how people are! She’s really brave and determined to and those aren’t bad things.

The plot is fantastic as well. Instead of learning about the werewolves we get to learn about the witches and boy are they crazy! I think the werewolves are less scary then that coven. I loved that there was action and a bit of romance but it wasn’t a fluffy book. When something happened there wasn’t a magic wand that fixed everything. There were some really crazy parts! Paige is much more brave than I give her credit for.

Basically, everyone needs to read this book. Once you’re finished you’ll be thinking why have I not read this before! It’ll change your entire reading experience!

Paige is a witch, and Coven Leader of the American Coven. That sounds more important than she really is, because the Elders don't really want to give her any power.

Now she has to look after Savannah, daughter of deceased dark witch Eve, with powers no one can predict.

Enter Leah, bad half-demon, a Volo, which means she can levitate things. Levitate in the way that she can chop your head of with a flying plate.

Then there is Nast, leader of the Nast Cabal, a sorcerer business-Mafia, who wants custody over Savannah.

This starts a chain of actions that well, fill the whole book. This book is one long roller coaster ride of fast-paced plot twists. It was very different from Bitten and Stolen indeed, but Paige is a whole different character, so I don't mind. The romance was predictable but kinda cute, Cortez dialogue fit him quite right and Savannah acted like a real thirteen-year-old. Fun read!

[book:Dime Store Magic] is [author:Kelley Armstrong]'s third Women of the Underworld book, and so far, the weakest. After such a solid debut with [book:Bitten], I was really surprised that DSM ended up being a lesser story. The romance felt obligatory, the complexity of the levels of demons and witch magic made me wish for the simplicity of the werewolf pack in the earlier books, and Lucas Cortez's dialogue was painfully stiff and formal. The various conflicts all felt manufactured and forced - no one's motivations really made sense. I liked the continuation of Savannah's and Leah's stories, carried forward from [book:Stolen], but I'd really like to get back to books about Elena.

All that said, I still gave it three stars indicating that it was an entertaining read, but I hope Kelley Armstrong gets back in shape after this book.
