If you haven't read the Iron Fey series, you will end up being very curious and should go read that series. However, this book does it's best to sketch in enough details that you won't be lost if you haven't read that series yet. For the fellow Puck lovers, he DOES appear in this book! But sadly not until towards the end and his part isn't long. Perhaps we'll get more next book?

I ended up liking Kenzie more after Grimalkin appeared. She was the epitome of the tenacious, nosy reporter girl. And while that isn't a bad thing necessarily, that's mostly all you saw of her at first. I also guessed her secret before the reveal, but that didn't diminish it when it did come out.

I loved Razor! He was such a fun and mischievous character. I loved all his rants about the "bad kitty!". And I really liked Keirran. As Puck says, Keirran and Ethan remind him of Ash and himself. Keirran is charming and noble, but also genuinely nice and wanted to get to know Ethan.

Ethan on the other hand is broody and angsty. He doesn't want anyone to get hurt by the fey because of being his friend. So he snarls and acts like a jerk, trying to push everyone away. This works with everyone normally, but fails spectacularly with Kenzie.

As the book goes on, you learn not only a lot of fey lore and how to keep them away from you. But also you start to see inside the characters. What they show on the surface is only the shallowest glimpse of what you learn later. I love how this world is filled with characters who show real depth. And the world is also very real feeling.

I do like how the fey are not all sweetness and light in these books. They are written as they should be, tricksy and sometimes dark. Not something you should bargain with or make promises to without considering your words carefully and knowing exactly what you will be in for.

If you have read the other series, you should read this one as well. If you haven't read either one, but like books about the fey, you should read this.

When I read the last Iron Fey book, I thought all was lost, and THEN, I was given this new series. I was elated to revisit some old friends, and super excited to start my journey with some new friends.

This story focuses on two of the Iron Queen's men: Ethan, her brother and Kierran, her son.

Ethan has grown into quite the complicated and brooding young man, but this adventure with Kierran and Kensie (a mortal girl from his school) will help him grow and enable him to accept his relationship with the Fae and his sister.

Kierran is all trouble, all the time. Following fairly closely in the footsteps of his father, he will have to make some hard choices regarding his family, his love and himself.

JKagawa is on a short list of authors who can do no wrong by me. This book kept me wanting to find out what came next. yelling at the pages and smiling when something I wanted to happen actually happened. She made me invest my heart and soul into these people's lives and the outcome of their journey. I cannot wait to start the next book.

Those of you that haven’t read The Iron Fey series you should probably read that one first. This series is a spin-off of The Iron Fey series. I was really excited when I learned that there would be more to this series. I loved the world that Julie created here and I wanted more. Well, I got more!

I’m not 100% sure how I feel about this book. It’s been a couple days since I finished it and I can still remember what happens, which is a really good sign. I think my only problem was with the main character, Ethan. I find that when a female author writes with a guy main character, or vice versa, it just doesn’t work. I think that guys and girls don’t understand each other well enough to write a successful story about them, unless they have a partner. He wasn’t a bad character, he just had something missing. He didn’t think like a male thinks, not that I know how they think. It just didn’t seem write. That’s probably my only complaint about this book.

I loved going back to the Nevernever again. I missed all those characters. I was shocked to see how Meghan’s life turned out. It was cute though. It was a little similar to the previous series though. A new kind of fey is appearing and the characters have to go figure out what. I hope the rest of the series is different though because I don’t want to read the same story with different characters. I want something new and different.

Julie Kagawa has done it again.

It’s been a while since I’ve read any of the Iron Fae books in a while but when I picked up this book, I was happily thrown back into the world that Kagawa created for the Iron Fae. This book follows Ethan Chase as he tries his best to move on with his life away from the fae world as he can. After he was taken captive by those damn fairies, he hasn’t been a fan of them and more than anything, he wanted to forget them. It’s hard to do that because those fairies won’t leave him alone. When they start in on those close to him, Ethan feels like he has to step in and take care of these pests once and for all.

Ethan finds himself thrown into the faerie world against his wishes once again and with good reasons, he’s not happy. He’s the new guy in yet another school and he’s trying to keep a low profile there so that this town would be easier to live in than the last few towns that he lived in but when he meets Todd, who is getting bullied at school, it’s hard for him to not get involved. Not expecting to make any friends in this new school, Ethan puts up this prickly façade that doesn’t fool either Todd or the cute girl Kenzie St. James that won’t take a hike after he made it plain as day that he doesn’t want to be friends.

Kenzie, a reporter for the school’s newspaper won’t take no for an answer. She wants an interview with the new guy that has a bad reputation that followed him all the way to his new school and she’ll keep right on asking him until he agrees. It helps that he’s easy on the eyes and she feels that there is a lot more to Ethan Chase than meets the eye and she’s definitely interested in finding out what makes him, him.

They both get more than they bargained for when they’re thrown together in an adventure that one is unsure is real and the other is pissed at being drawn back into. Todd has been taken and there’s a new kind of faerie that is taking out the half-breeds on earth and sucking their souls out of them. Ethan needs to get back to the faerie world to find Todd and then he’s coming right back home to get on with his life but when things don’t go according to plan, Ethan is dragged into a potential war that he can’t walk away from.

There is a lot of things that pop up in this book and I enjoyed the ride. Ethan is prickly and he’s mad but he’s also got just cause for feeling the way that he does. He’s also very brave and he knows what he wants and what he’s capable of. The way that he handles the problems that were thrown at him had me turning the pages fast enough to cause worry of fire. I thought Kagawa did a great job of starting Ethan’s story and I very much look forward to reading the rest of the books in this branched off series.

It was good to see my favorite characters from the Iron Fae series again after so much time has passed. I loved seeing Meghan, Ash and Puck and then meeting the new characters like Keirran, Annwyl, Kenzie and even Todd.

This is definitely a series that I will continue to read and I’m pretty stoked about the reading journey to come. I definitely recommend this book.

El título no pude haber sido más largo, seriamente...

Al terminar el libro mi primera conclusión fue este libro, este nuevo inicio de saga, me gustó mucho más que sus anteriores.

¿Serán los personajes? ¿Será la historia? No sé cuál elegir, es el conjunto lo que lleva a este libro ser más adictivo, mucho más interesante. También el que Julie haya sabido cuando involucrar a nuestros conocidos de otros libros, ya sea en menciones o apariciones. Por ejemplo al principio cuando sentíamos esa cosa en el estómago llamado anticipación (¿Habrán cambiado mucho Ash o Puck? ¿Seguirán siendo tan geniales? ¿Habrán envejecido?) o luego la sonrisa conocedora y cómplice que compartíamos con la autora.

Como bien lo señala nuestro querido Puck, Ethan y Kierran tienen una gran camaradería que nos hace pensar en Ash y Puck, pre-Meghan, pre-Ariella, antes que todos los desastres sucedieran, cuando eran jóvenes y estúpidos y eso. No vayas a pensar que son Little Puck y Ash Jr., porque como digo es la camaradería. Porque en personalidad, de sus antecesores no podían ser más diferentes, Kierran es tierno como el Ash-PostMeghan (y solo con ella, he ahí la diferencia) y también tiene un poco (bastante) del juguetón Robin Goodfellow, en cambio Ethan es... bueno, él. Desconfiado, un poquito sarcástico y Team Anti-Hada. Juntos son completamente geniales.

Una cosa que me he dado cuenta sobre los libros de Kagawa es que sus protagonistas femeninos tienden ha ser un poco exasperantes. A Meghan muchas veces quise estrangularla, y ahora con Kenzie al principio me caía bastante mal, porque una cosa es ser curiosa, querer saber, otra muy distinta es ser metiche y no saber respetar. Y si has leído el libro no me deja de cae mal por ESO, sino porque en el tracurso del libro va bajando un poquito revoluciones.

La historia es adictiva, no pude parar de leer, tenía tiempo sin que me pasara eso con una historia de hadas, pero la rapidez, la fácil lectura del libro es asombrosa. Los personajes muy entrañables, los viejos personajes también tienen un pequeña colaboración y es estupenda.

The Lost Prince ha superado considerablemente la serie base, eso, claro, en mi humilde opinión.

I really enjoyed learning more about Ethan Chase, the son of Megan (Iron Queen) and Ash (Winter Prince): the continuation of the story from the point of view of the little boy who was stolen by the Fey and set his sister off on her journey to become the Iron Queen.

Loved the bits of humor that are thrown into the story, new Fey that are attacking the outcasts and the involvement of a bit of a romance for Ethan. If you loved the Iron Fey series, you will love continuing on the path with Ethan and Kenzie.

I also love the covers on these book -- so breathtaking, and sometimes the book covers totally sell the book.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book, because I'm not huge into reading about 'the next generation' but I really enjoyed this book. Kagawa's stuff just keeps getting better! It tied in nicely with the original series (and I recommend reading The Iron Fey series first) but it felt like it was going to be it's own new story line!

Ethan Chase, baby brother to Meghan Chase, turned bad boy. After all that has happen, he has made it a mission to stay away from all things fey, leaving him a loner.

This book has a brilliant plot, as a reader you do not have this rushed pace that some books might have. You get to understand what it is that Ethan is feeling, seeing, and doing. Feel his abrasiveness, the isolated and careful way he leads his life in which he wants no one to enter.

Yes, there is a love interest in this book, and I feel as though as a reader you will enjoy this as much as I have. We get to see and feel as they open up about their lives and grow into a friendship. Watch as they fall in love and risk everything to save each other.

If you have read the other series by author Julie Kagawa, then you will love when you are back in the Nevernever and seeing old characters along side discovering new ones. This book is by far no simple spin off of a well received series but a book that can stand on it's own and pull you into this wonderful world. Thrilling and absolutely satisfying.

It was as always, well written, but I don't know, it lacked that "thing" that made the other books of the saga so dear to me. Amazing nonetheless but I really look forward reading the next book to see if that spark is still there

I like [author:Julie Kagawa] because her books are so easy to read and this is a fun world. Ethan is a complicated hero, all tormented and tough but sweet. I think I like him better than Meghan. Kenzie is fantastic and I really like her and her fearlessness. Kieran I actually found a little bland but I think part of that is that he didn't have enough to do.

It was so odd and fun to see Ash and Puck as the authority figures. I liked seeing them and the world grow but still be themselves. And I loved all the lost prince bits. There's just something really wonderful about sudden awkward bows and carriages that I found really delightful.

And also, I want the next one now because there are things I still need to understand.
