I’m 100% over whatever hatred I had for Paige. I really, really didn’t like her in the first books but I love her now. She was a much stronger character in this book and was super loyal to her friends. I loved Lucas as well. He’s super smart and handsome! I like how they introduced Lucas’ father more. I didn’t like him but he’s a really good character. Savannah was as fantastic as ever and there was a bunch of new characters.

The story was as amazing as the first books. It keeps getting better and better. I love that Lucas is helping out his father, kind of. I also really like that this book is a little bit of romance, fantasy and mystery all in one. I’m trying to keep this review short so I’m not gushing too long. Basically this is a book I could read over and over, and not get bored. Ever.

This is one of those books where plot is actually secondary to characters. It is fast paced and well thought through, but a little predictable at times. The great strength of this book is all the little quirky manners that make every character so unique and makes it have them their own distinct voice. The dialogue flows and feels natural and made me laugh out loud at times. Eve seems like an interesting person, I'll enjoy reading more about her in the next instalment, Haunted.

I'm going back and forth about whether to give this 2 or 3 stars. The writing is just so clunky. The paperback clocked in at over 500 pages, and I felt like if only it had been edited more, it could have taken up much less room. There is just so much unneeded exposition on mundane details. I still don't buy Paige and Lucas's romance (one of my complaints about [b:Dime Store Magic|125926|Dime Store Magic (Women of the Otherworld, #3)|Kelley Armstrong|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1355183293l/125926._SY75_.jpg|2492799]) - unlike with Elena and Clay in [b:Bitten|11918|Bitten (Otherworld, #1)|Kelley Armstrong|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1306101770l/11918._SY75_.jpg|2606334], Kelley Armstrong just tells us over and over that Paige and Lucas love each other without ever really showing it. The relationship between Lucas and his father suffers from the same problems; we're told one thing about it but nothing that the characters actually do reflect what we're told.

Paige doesn't narrate any of the remaining books in the series, so I think I'll keep reading in hopes that the switch to Eve or the return to Elena improves things. We'll see.
