I write this review with tears in my eyes. How could you do that, JKagawa? There were so many times during this book that my heart broke a little and I softly sobbed, but the ending, I was not expecting that. And there is no next book for me to turn to. Oh, the heartache and pain.

In this book, we find Ethan and Kenzie assisting Kierran with a very important mission. Of course, there is danger and chaos and enemies are made, but we also see some beautiful things. We see a bond forming between the Iron Prince and his uncle, we see the strength of the relationship between Ethan and his Guro, and most of all, we see how Ethan and Kenzie's relationship is blossoming and growing. The love is strong in this book, my heart didn't only ache, it swelled a lot too.

I am an Iron Fey super fan, so I will just have to wait for the next book (--sigh--)

This one really drew me in, I like Ethan, I like Kenzie even more and I hope she gets something out of this faerie adventure other than grief. Kenzie is determined to have a life and determined not to let anything get in her way, no matter how much people try to shield her from any of it, even Ethan.
I get what Kierran is trying to do, he loves Annwyl and wants her to live, but his choices may have repercussions that will change the world.

It's messy and I like how Ethan learns to trust some people, but the end, oh man, the end made me gasp, even if I was expecting it.

I wavered between two and three stars because this wasn't a bad book but I also was not impressed in any way.

Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it. Or maybe because Ethan Chase is not that interesting of a main character. Which could be because the book is written like an instruction manual it's so simple and straightforward. Maybe because I knew exactly where the story was headed the whole time so there was no tension. Whatever the reason I wasn't really engaged in this story at all.

I think the characters probably are interesting if the writing didn't bother me so much. The dialog parts were all decent. And I think it didn't help that there was a lot of development for Ethan in the last book but none for any of the characters really in this one. I do like how Ash manages to come across as a serious adult in Ethan's eyes. I liked the new perspective on him. But I didn't like Kierran at all in this book. I don't care if there were reasons for what he did - he became unlikable and he was the saving grace of the last book.

But everything else was just such a dole drum. At first I liked the insight that short story provided until it became apparent this entire novel was just leading to what we already knew happened. But you know I'm sure I'll end up reading the next one to see how [a:Julie Kagawa|2995873|Julie Kagawa|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1257816454p2/2995873.jpg] does what I already know she's going to do.

Sorry, I can't write a decent review about this because it was just so damn freaking awesome I don't know if I should be crying, doing a happy dance, or making a deal with fey so time can go faster and I can read what happens next because that ending.....

THAT is the kind of ending/cliffhanger books were made for

wow Keirran, he's a stubborn headed, rush into anything, one tracked minded fool. there's not much I can say in regards to this book without giving anything away, but this book was really good. Julie Kagawa is just a phenomenal writer, I just love her stories, and her world's and the cliffhanger on this book is just OMG!!!!!

If you been reading this series you knew the ending was coming as the author had been hinting and showing us the situation to us throughout the book. What we did not know is how the whole things was to play out nor if she would leave us with that ending. I for one am going okay now what, as everything that happened is this book leaves the whole world of the humans and the fey in complete upheaval. This is a total wrench your heart out story and you are left going ack how, what, noooo! So eagerly waiting for the next book.

Desde el título estamos preocupados. Nosotros sabemos eso que nadie más sabe, así que esa cosita de esperar cuando pasará, que se siente en el estómago nos acompaña casi todo el libro.

Como bien lo dice Kenzie en una parte del libro, nuestro idiota Príncipe de Hierro se la da de Yo-Solito-Puedo-Con-Todo y la embarra toda. Se parece tanto a su madre... Pobrecito. Así que Ethan y Kenzie tienen que ir a impedir que haga algo más estúpido y loco de lo que ya ha hecho.

En este libro comparto las ganas de Ethan de querer matar a medio mundo, es que como dije, el principito es tan parecido a su madre en algunas cosas e Ethan no le queda otra que ayudar porque es familia. Puntos positivos del libro es que sale de lo típico de "Voy-A-Ocultar-Esto-De-Todo-El-Mundo" al menos por una parte y hay un poco más de integración, a la fuerza, pero la hay. Puntos negativos, es que se da vuelta a lo mismo y dices "¡¡¿YA?!!", eso será en un 5 o 10% del libro.

Como vimos en el primer libro, tenemos toda una nueva raza de hadas en el mundo "Los Olvidados", lo curioso es (algo que olvidé mencionar por completo en la reseña de The Lost Prince >.) que ya los habíamos visto antes ¿Recuerdan The Iron Kinght, cuando pasan por ese "pueblo" hacía el fin del mundo? Yep, son ellos. Como bien siempre se nos ha recordado en todos los libros: hacer tratos con hadas siempre tiene un precio, por lo general muy alto. Lo que me gusta del libro es que aunque es fantasía, tiene algo de real, todas las decisiones que tomaron Ash y Meghan, desde las más chiquitas, tiene un efecto en estos chicos, directa o indirectamente. Me gusta eso.

También tenemos esta vez la participación de viejos conocidos, alguno de ellos dejándome con la duda porque nada es gratis, pero a fin de cuentas él siempre ha sido un misterio. Chico Hielo, juro que no puedo verlo como papá Ash, se me hace tan gracioso. Siempre será mi Príncipe (soltero) de Hielo. Y por supuesto, también veremos a Puck.

Literalmente viajamos por todos los mundos y quedamos impactados por ese final, porque el amor nos puede llevar a hacer cosas estúpidas y, que absolutamente todo, tiene consecuencias.
