If I want to be guaranteed a smile, great friendships, and a swoony romance, I read a Shalvis book. Once again, she gave me a fabulous heroine, a hero I want for my own, and a wonderful blend of humor, romance, and family drama, which warmed my heart, but what I am most excited about is getting to know Wildstone. Shalvis has a knack for creating these wonderful small towns, which I always want to move to, which are inhabited by these fun and quirky characters, I always want to get to know better.

I don't normally go for novellas, but I heard book 1.5 is Tilly's romance, and I am really looking forward to it. Tilly totally captured my heart in this book. She lost her mother, was abandoned by her father, and was being pushed away by her best friend. My heart kept breaking in pieces for her. There was something wonderful that happened for her towards the end of the book, and I was not able to wipe the stupid grin off my face for hours.

Overall: A wonderful beginning to a new series, which I can't wait to read more of.

A woman learns a surprising secret in this sweet adult romance.

Considering how much romance I’ve read in the past, it’s sad to say I’ve never read Jill Shalvis before. Full of family, friendships, and small town life, this novel is absolutely delightful. Quinn is a vibrant protagonist. Her humor in awkward situations and her sassy responses are wonderful! She is my new best friend. Her romance with Mick happens quicker than I like, but their connection is strong. The other characters are just as unique and sassy as Quinn herself.

The plot took me by surprise. So many things happen in such a short time span. I do wish more time passed in the story rather than only a month or two, but the author does a great job ensuring the character’s growths with themselves and each other never feel rushed. It also had some magical realism, an unexpected fun part of the novel.

While the characters drew me into the story, the setting drew me into the series. Wildstone is not a haven of perfection as it faces economic depression. Its imperfections drew me into the story just as much as Nora Robert’s perfect small town settings. I’ll definitely be checking out the second book in the series.

I cannot adequately express how much I enjoyed this book. I first became aware of Jill Shalvis when I read the Heartbreaker Bay series. Since then I look forward to reading her books. Based on what I have read of her work so far, Lost and Found Sisters, which is the first book in the Wildstone series, took a different turn. The focus is not on romance, but on family, healing and forgiveness.What the story is about.Losing someone close is not a loss that one can easily move past. Quinn Weller would discover this devastating truth when she lost her sister in a car accident. Since that fateful day, her life has never been the same. She is empty on the inside and relationships have no meaning until the day she received some shocking news. News that would shake up her world and change her life in ways she never expected.The CharactersI admired Quinn for her bravery. Walking away from the life she lived for thirty years to embrace the unknown took guts. She went looking for answers and she found more than she ever imagined. She found love and forged new friendships.Change is never easy a fact that Quinn would come to realise. She struggled with the changes, but never once did she consider giving up. She is one of those characters that one cannot help but like. She is selfless, and she cares deeply for others. She also possesses a sarcastic sense of humour which when displayed placed a smile on my face.Mick Hennessey returned to Wildstone, temporarily to help his mom get her house in order. He does not intend to stay, but then he meets Quinn who has him re-thinking his decision. He is caring and always willing to help.They are attracted to each other but were afraid to explore the attraction as they were on different paths in life, which would lead to them being miles apart from each other. I liked that they moved past the fear and as a result discovered love. They were great for each other. He helped her sort out her feelings when things got complicated.I found the town of Wildstone and its inhabitants interesting. They helped make the story shine with their humorous antics and banter.The StoryLost and Found Sisters is a heartfelt story filled with humour. It combines romance with life-affirming issues. At the start of each chapter are quotes that was both funny and true. The author provided a romance that is sweet and passionate but without the steam.The inheritance was not what I expected, however; I enjoyed how this aspect of the story played out. I loved how Quinn came to terms with everything that is associated with her inheritance. She accepted both the good and the bad.Conclusion /RecommendationLost and Found Sisters is a wonderful and poignant story of love, healing, self-discovery and embracing change. This is a great start to the series and I am eager to spend more time with the inhabitants of Wildstone.

A great start to a new series — the setting isn’t my favourite, but the colourful characters and sparkling humour that are Shalvis’ trademark characteristics were all there. Tilly’s a major highlight and her fledgling relationship with Quinn was my favourite part of the book.

In this new series by Jill Shalvis we're introduced to Wildstone, Ca. A small coastal town that has seen better times but who's residents are nosey, comical and willing to help a lost soul discover who she is and where she belongs.

Quinn's life is flipped upside down when she's sought out by a Harry Potter looking lawyer and told that she had an inheritance from a woman she barely knows, discovering not only that she's adopted but also has a teenage sister. Desperate to understand, she travels to Wildstone where she finds herself surrounded by the quirky townspeople and one very hot resident at the local B & B.

Quinn was lovable. Almost from the moment we meet her on the page, I liked her. I loved her quirks, her sarcasm and quick remarks, along with her ability to like those that should be unlikable. Despite not knowing what she wanted to do after discovering her adoption and a sister, she managed to put Tilly first (even if she didn't want to). She was determined to do what she needed to for Tilly and do it herself to prove to both of them they could do this. It was hard not to love her, even when she tried to keep herself closed off from being hurt.

The romance between Quinn and Mick was fun. They laughed, they supported each other, and grew to rely on one another. But what I missed in this romance was the sexiness that I've grown to love in a Jill Shalvis book. These two were playful with each other, but we never really saw that side of them in the bedroom, which I missed.

As with any book by this author, the secondary characters sometimes steal the show. Lena is a character that I hope gets her own book soon. She came off so unlikeable at first, but I found myself liking her the more we saw her (just like Quinn). I'm hoping she and Boomer someway, somehow find a HEA soon.

LOST AND FOUND SISTERS is a perfect beach read. You'll laugh, you'll smile and it will tug on those heartstrings, all the while wishing Wildstone was close to real.

Shalvis hit it way out of the ballpark with Lost and Found Sisters! What a strong story, with characters who made my heart both swoon and ache.



Lost and Found Sisters is a bit different from Shalvis' usual novels, but still has the same feel to it. A deep story, where Quinn, the main character makes several discoveries about herself, which in turn brings her to move out of LA to a small village to try to find her way, while also getting to know some people that will become very important to her.

The main theme in Lost and Found Sisters is family, and what exactly family is. Does it have to mean those people we are related to by blood? Can family be the people we choose? People who choose us? Quinn has to ask herself all those questions, and more, while also figuring out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. The sexy Mick doesn't make the choices Quinn needs to make any easier, but they do make them somewhat hotter.

Each chapter of Lost and Found Sisters starts with a line or two from Tilly's diary, and they are hilarious! There should be a collection of those to pick up on a bad day just to make us smile, all the while agreeing with the deeper meaning of what is stated. Written in third person point of view, past tense, and with dialogues to fill the readers in on the characters thoughts and feelings, this story hit me in all the best places.

For her, the good, ol' US of A had always consisted of Los Angeles, New York and San Fransisco, with nothing in between except a nap at thirty-five thousand feet. She realized that probably made her a city snob, but the truth was, she just didn't know anything different.

Shalvis is quite the storyteller and I was delighted to find myself quickly drawn into Quinn's story. Quinn's life is about to be altered and it's a good thing too. Since her sister's death, she has just been going through the motions of living. When a lawyer contacts Quinn about a mysterious inheritance it comes with earth-shattering news. She feels betrayed, unsure and overwhelmed.

Blindsided she gets in her car and heads to Wildstone. When she has a panic attack in the beach parking lot a golden retriever named Cooper and his sexy owner, Mick Hennessey assist her. Mick has returned to the town his father made him hate to help his mother after the old man died. He intends to make repairs, clean out the junk and return to his life in San Francisco. Fate has other plans for him.

The romance delivered wonderful chemistry and brought change to both characters. Shalvis peeled back their layers and quickly had me swooning over Mick. His compassion, patience, and love for his dog make him a worthy book boyfriend. Quinn struggled with change and decision making, but she has a good heart and sees the good in people. I felt for her as she found her footing and loved the added touch concerning Beth.

The small town of Wildstone and its characters proved to be very interesting from Mick's snarky ex-girlfriend to the women who works in the diner. I loved the complication with the inheritance and enjoyed seeing the developing relationship. Shalvis provided plenty of laughter in this heartfelt tale, from bugs in the tub to a snarky stray cat.

Since this is the start of a series, several threads are woven in alongside Quinn's story from politics to a troubled couple. Of course, Shalvis already has me counting down the days until the June 2018 release of RAINY DAY FRIENDS.
