Once I'm into it I can't put it down, even 6 years later ^^ Finished it within the day and onto the next one !! Great series.


Aaagghhh you have got to be kidding me !! This is the end of the second part ?! God... I want the next book !!!! I hate that I've to wait to august 2012 for the next part :(
But I LOVED this book, I LOVE this series a lot !! It's soooo exciting ! Once I got started I could not put the book down.. sight.. why can't authors deliver a compleet series at once !!

WHAT I LIKE
👽 That there are two POV's because I read less about annoying John.
👽 Six. She's such a badass.
👽 Marina.
👽 Marina's sisterly relationship with Ella.
👽 Héctor Ricardo, because he's the town drunk with a heart of gold.
👽 That I got to see how differently the Cêpan react towards their Garde and their duty.
👽 The X-Men like powers of the Garde.

WHAT I DISLIKE
👽 That the two POV's didn't really intersect.
👽 John. He is such an idiotic character who makes so many stupid decisions. (show spoiler)[Six and Sam tell John not to go see Sarah. He selfishly leaves Six to fight the Mogadorians all by herself to see Sarah. Honestly, when Sarah betrays him, he deserves it. And then, in his selfish bid to get his Chest back, he leaves Sam all alone in the cave and doesn't go back to save the one person who has been there for him through thick and thin. ] (hide spoiler)

Amazing! I loved I Am Number Four and The Power of Six was even better! This was an action packed sequel full of unexpected twists and turns.

The Power of Six is contains two simultaneous stories narrated from John (Number Four) and Marina’s (Number Seven) point of view. We meet John and Six in the previous book and now we get to know them better. John, Six, Sam, and Berny Kosar are all on the run from the Mogs and from the federal government, which is really hard to do, although it is pretty exciting. I am really thrilled about Six and her awesome powers, she seems to be really well trained and she knows what she’s doing and helps John a lot. At the end of the book John rescues Number Nine, which also seems to be very well developed powers and it’s one of the oldest Lorians so far.

Marina is in Spain where she has been for many years waiting for her legacies to develop, but being denied training by her Cépan. Marina is not an easy character to identified with and her life is much less exciting than Johns and Six’s, and her narration is full of her daily life chores and frustrations. Marina is very scared of everything and her fear is of the paralyzing kind (this is not a good thing when Mogs are tracking you with the intent of killing you!). Ella was a surprised addition to the story, and I liked her immediately.

All these kids have gone through so much and so much more is expected of them. They have a pretty heavy load and a big sense of responsibility to humanity, to Lorien, and to each other.

The Power of Six is action packed, well developed, it has an amazing plot and is masterfully written. I hope that a movie is made based on the book, because it will be incredible! The ending is a cliffhanger if I ever saw one, and I cannot wait for The Rise of Nine, due to be published in August 21st of this year (*yeah*) All I have to say is S, I hope you’re okay S.*

About the cover: Not sure what all the symbols mean, but suspect they might be Lorien numbers. I like the cover, the contrast of dark and light colors and the lettering.

The Power of Six does not seem quite as urgent as I Am Number Four, perhaps because the characters are now stronger and more prepared to take on threats, but it has more than its fair share of action. With the narration alternating between John’s point of view and Marina’s (Number Seven), there is a lot going on, and a lot of it is dangerous. The Mogodorians are clearly preparing for something big, just as the Garde are preparing for their own fight. (How exactly six people are going to take on an entire planet and win remains unexplained, but for the sake of the plot, readers will just have to go with it. And the plot is worth going with it.)

Beyond the expected battles, now featuring more Legacies and more technology from the chests, there is still romance. Between Sam and Six. Between John and Six. Another thing readers just have to go with. Six vaguely explains at some point that it is fine to like more than one person. And it is, but eventually someone is going to have to make a decision here. Lore seems like the only one eager to make such a decision, however, and his efforts are a little…obvious, to say the least. He essentially takes one scene to portray Sarah as a jerk, which will probably open the way to a stronger Six/John romance in the next book. Unfortunately, the scene seems contrived and completely out of character for Sarah. Maybe pairing Sam and Six would be a little too neat, in a “oh, look, everyone has someone to date” way, but it would have worked if Lore just wished to throw some romance in the book to keep readers hooked. It appears clear whom everyone is going to end up dating, from the clue thrown around in the book, but only The Rise of Nine will confirm things.

The Power of Six is a nice middle book to a series. It keeps things moving along. It introduces new vital characters. It keeps people reading with crazy battles and revealed secrets. But The Rise of Nine had better more a little more mind-blowing; it must be, to convince readers six Garde can actually win the battle they were sent to win.

ok so this one is totally starting the set up of some huge epic battle. And it's awesome we are starting to see more of the remaining 9 and meeting elle was also unexpected but interesting at the same time. It also gives some bit of clarity on some things from the first book. And with what happened with Sarah, I can't say i'm not surprised. I mean how was that relationship going to work out when the chances of him ever coming back was slim to none. I really can't wait for the next book, and find out what happens with John, Six, Marina, nine, elle, crayton and Sam.
