It's been a pleasure once more to dive into the world of Juliette and her companions to save the world, to free them from The Reestablishment. Tahereh Mafi's words are as strong and deep as always. It was fun to read this book, but I have to criticize that it just took me too long to get to the battle. I understand that she wanted the relationship between Juliette and Adame as well as Juliette and Warner to be cleared. And these scenes were important for Juliette's success in the end. But it all took too long and the battle part was WAY TOO short. Unfortunately!
It was an interesting story how the survivors of "Omega Point" came together again and dared to take the fight in their hands and that Castle was so willingly giving up leadership to Juliette.
This trilogy into an apocalyptic world, I hope we'll never see, was interesting and horrifying at the same time. But it's good to know that there will always be a bunch of people fighting for justice and freedom.

Ignite, my love. Ignite"
I am always a little sad when a series ends. I know I will miss the characters and their world, but I can say with surety, that I am very satisfied with he ending to the Shatter Me series.
"Juliette, love," he says to me, still holding my eyes. "You have just started a war."
Mafi did such a great job completing Juliette's metamorphosis. In book 1, she was this shattered creature on the brink of insanity, she was trying to find her way in understanding and harnessing her power in book 2, and now, she is fully realized. Juliette makes a choice to accept her power, to stand tall in the face of danger, and be the leader she never realized she was.
He's unraveling before me, becoming something entirely different.
I really appreciated that Mafi allowed Juliette to be sort of on her own, and that she struggled with knowing herself before she resolved the love triangle.
I want a pocketful of punctuation marks to end the thoughts he's forced into my head.
I am, at heart, a true romance reader, so I devoured all the romantic bits. The passion was strong here, but sometimes I felt that Mafi was trying too hard to justify Juliette's romantic choices. As with all great triangles, this one had readers choosing sides, and maybe she felt like she owed it to them.
Twice. Once for Adam. Once for Warner.
I want you to make a list of all your favorite things, and I want to be on it.
I have no reservations about the way this series ended, and I am always pleased when I can end a series without regrets. Once again, Mafi gave us action, drama, romance, but for me, it's more about the characters. The characters changed and grew to be different, better, and I am a sucker for that.
"Everything looks so different to me now," he says. "It feels different. It tastes different. You brought me back to life."

Finally, we're at the end of the road and what a journey it is. Author, my deep gratitude for letting my ship sail. And I'm so glad that Juliette finally stepped up to become a person that she deserves to be.
I just wish that I could've given this book a higher rating but the fact that the book gave too much attention to the fucking romance irked me to death. And there was so much drama between Adam and Juliette's breakup that I can't help but cringe. I swear, I asked myself whether the whole thing was a soap-opera-incarnate.
Furthermore, I wished that there was more to the plot. It was so predictable and I felt like Juliette and company's victory was so easy.

Initial thoughts: I went into Ignite Me rather apprehensive right from the start, so I can't say I set myself up for disappointment. Yet I am a little disappointed. The first book held so much promise, while the second book gave so much potential to this conclusion of the trilogy. Ignite Me didn't live up to that for me. I felt like I had to force myself to finish reading as I dreaded picking up the book again on more than one occasion. The constant whining and pining grated on me.
At least there were a few chapters that rekindled my interest in finishing the book. There were some little twists that added layers to the otherwise predictable plot. In the end what saved the book for me were Kenji and James. Without these two characters, I might've flung the book out of the window. Good thing I wasn't compelled to defenestrate the book because I alternated between reading on my Kindle and my phone.

And the main reason for that is the lack of action in this book. Especially for a last book in the series, there was some serious lack of actual action throughout the book. There were some arguments and some training and fighting going on, but the big showdown that I was expecting did not happen until like the last hundred pages or so. That really disappointed me, especially since the rest of the book wasn't really that exciting as well. Honestly, it was a lot of Warner and Juliette talking about stuff, Adam ranting about stupid things, Kenji making stupid jokes and more of Warner and Juliette talking about more stuff.
Yes, okay the previous two books weren't action packed as well, but that is why this book felt so disappointing to me; I was hoping that the author was saving all that action for this last book. And the bit of action that was present in the book felt so rushed, as if Tahereh wanted the story to be over asap and just was like 'let's have Juliette punching holes in a boat aaaaaaaaaaaand we're done'. Yeah no.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the way the book was written, and I just love Tahereh Mafi's writing style in general, but yeah I had expected more of this book. I did love the characters; I loved how Juliette finally got to understand her powers more, I loved Kenji, and I also have to admit I kind of started to like Warner a bit more than I used to in the previous two books (ok I hated him, and I really wanted Juliette to end up with Adam, I am sorry). But yeah I was annoyed at how Adam treated Juliette throughout the book, and I actually had to put the book down several times because of the annoyment and ugh, yeah he became one of my least favourite characters after reading this book.
So yeah, in the end I enjoyed reading more of Tahereh's writing, but was very disappointed with this story and the way the whole series ended. Of course, I won't tell you to not read this book, especially not if you have read the first two and want to know how it ends, but I am warning you that if you are a person who loves a lot of action in books, that this book will not be the book for you!

1. Juliette was a much better character in this book. It was kind of a dramatic change though.
2. Adam got really annoying and whiny very quickly. I wasn't impressed with him.
3. Warner will always be one of my favourite characters. He's got a lot of interesting things going on.
4. The plot was pretty good. Could have been better.
5. I wasn't really happy with the ending. It didn't seem finished to me. Too many questions.
