Ignite Me is the third and final book in the Shatter Me series. A series that I enjoyed reading, but I have to say I didn't love it. Especially not this last book. It took me way too long to actually order and start reading this book, and because of that I had forgotten most of what had happened in the previous two books. Thank the gods for Recaptains, who have recapped both Shatter Me and Unravel Me. Otherwise I would have had to reread both books, and then it would have taken me even longer to read the last book in the series. But like I said, I didn't enjoy it that much.

And the main reason for that is the lack of action in this book. Especially for a last book in the series, there was some serious lack of actual action throughout the book. There were some arguments and some training and fighting going on, but the big showdown that I was expecting did not happen until like the last hundred pages or so. That really disappointed me, especially since the rest of the book wasn't really that exciting as well. Honestly, it was a lot of Warner and Juliette talking about stuff, Adam ranting about stupid things, Kenji making stupid jokes and more of Warner and Juliette talking about more stuff.

Yes, okay the previous two books weren't action packed as well, but that is why this book felt so disappointing to me; I was hoping that the author was saving all that action for this last book. And the bit of action that was present in the book felt so rushed, as if Tahereh wanted the story to be over asap and just was like 'let's have Juliette punching holes in a boat aaaaaaaaaaaand we're done'. Yeah no. And yes there were some sexy scenes in this book and I have to say they made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but yeah that happens with every book that has even the smallest sexy scene in it.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the way the book was written, and I just love Tahereh Mafi's writing style in general, but yeah I had expected more of this book. I did love the characters; I loved how Juliette finally got to understand her powers more, I loved Kenji, and I also have to admit I kind of started to like Warner a bit more than I used to in the previous two books (ok I hated him, and I really wanted Juliette to end up with Adam, I am sorry). But yeah I was annoyed at how Adam treated Juliette throughout the book, and I actually had to put the book down several times because of the annoyment and ugh, yeah he became one of my least favourite characters after reading this book.

So yeah, in the end I enjoyed reading more of Tahereh's writing, but was very disappointed with this story and the way the whole series ended. Of course, I won't tell you to not read this book, especially not if you have read the first two and want to know how it ends, but I am warning you that if you are a person who loves a lot of action in books, that this book will not be the book for you!
