A very easy audio to listen to

A well-written story, a great narrator and a cast of characters that were easy to love, made The Wanderer a very entertaining listen. Robyn Carr manages to bring Thunder Point to life and the small town and its people were positively appealing. With a bunch of romances coming to life in the small town, it was never boring. The highschool quarterback falls for the beautiful cheerleader, the deputy finally opens his eyes to the woman in front of him, and the helicopter pilot takes a risk on love with the newcomer.

The suspicious death of one of their beloved townspeople brings intrigue to their little town. It's up to The Wanderer to ask a few questions and look a little deeper into what really happened. In a small town like Thunder Point, there are no secrets and someone has to know more.

I have read Robyn Carr previously and again found myself content with how the story plays out. There is never a lot of angst and what turmoil there is, is normally handled in an intelligent and realistic way. There were limited steamy scenes, but what you do get, definitely shows a connection between the characters.

If you're looking for a great story with a fabulous narration, I highly recommend The Wanderer.

I've never rooted for so many characters in a book as in The Wanderer. There's Cooper and Sarah, the main protagonists, but there's also 3 more couples you'll fall in love with, of different generations, too. I read and listened to this one on audiobooks, amazing! There's real life issues, things you'll probably relate to, great romance, drama, mystery, friendly community, pets, even a dash of humor in some scenes. Boy was I rooting for Gina and Mac, too.

If you've read the Virgin River series and never wanted to part from it, believe me, you are going to love Thunder Point! Even though it has the same elements, you won't feel as if it's a repeat.
I don't know how Robyn Carr does it, but she gets better every time. This one also has an intriguing element between Cooper and Sarah from the start. It's well developed in the beginning, preparing us to get a good picture of what Thunder Point is all about and its characters. I tell you when I got to the last page, I was so sad to see it end, but at the same time I was so happy and eager to read the next one! You will definitely be hooked! This one is going on my Re-read list, it's that good. I think I'll go listen to it again... ;) I give it a 4.5

Robyn Carr is the author of one of my favorite small town romance series Virgin River and when it came to an end after twenty books and five years I was deeply sadden. I worried that her new series Thunder Point would not give me the same warm and fuzzy feeling that Jack and the folks of Virgin River gave me. The Wanderer blasted those fears out of the park, and I am in love with a small beach town nestled on the Oregon coast line and the folks who live there.

The tale begins as Hank Cooper is making his way to Thunder Point after a message that his fellow military buddy has died and left him something. We met Hank previously in Virgin River. He is retired military and a former Black Hawk helicopter pilot. He has been working odd jobs as a civilian pilot and living out of his trailer. His plan is to find out what happen to his buddy before moving on to the next job. What he finds may just have him rethinking his nomad, no strings life.

Cooper as his friends like to call him is rugged, tall and oh so smexy. He’s been told he has intimacy issues and he would agree. I really liked this noble, stand up guy and he quickly stole my heart. We meet the townsfolk and learn some of their stories. Mac, thirty-six is the police chief and father of three. He married young after his high school sweetheart got pregnant and while he was in for the long haul she was not. He lives with his kids and his hilarious Aunt. Gina is a single mom working at the local diner and putting herself through college. She and Mac are best buddies and she secretly wishes it was more. Sarah is a Coast Guard Rescue pilot and is raising her sixteen year old brother. This strong woman was seriously damaged by her rocky, emotional marriage and is not looking for commitment. We meet other unique characters and I cannot wait to go back. The character interaction, witty banter and romantic moments are all things I adore in Carr's small-town series.

This was a delightful intro to the series, and Carr did an excellent job of introducing us to the characters and town. There were several threads and a few romances in this quaint little seaside town. This was really Sarah and Coopers romance, and things did not really develop between them until about half way through the book. While the wait was killer the romance was sweet, hot, delicious, and heartwarming. There was bully, a murder and other town drama that kept me completely immersed and of course sold me on this little town. While I can seem similarities in friendships, and settings I think Thunder Point will hold its own against my beloved Virgin River.
