Still very much enjoying Mac’s adventures, and Faefever was particularly interesting. Mac is not the girl she used to be, although she’s not completely different either.Mac grew a lot in this novel. She learned that the one person she needs to trust more than anybody else is her self.
Rowena is very much a frightened old woman who will do everything in her power not to let her hold of the rest of the Sidhe-seers break. Even if it means making Mac an outcast and forcing the rest of the girls into being little more than messengers. I’m interested to see how this will play out in Dreamfever, because I really think Rowena is due for some comeuppance.
The whole Voice deal was interesting, and is it just me or is Barrons starting to slip and show Mac he actually likes her very occasionally? Because that’s what my read on the situation is. Their relationship seems to be more complicated and less complicated all the time, especially seeing that as soon as Mac thinks she’s figured out something about Barrons, he almost always proves her completely wrong. Or partly right but not in the way she thought she would be.

This book not only pulls your through its pages like your in a race for the end, and then leaves you gasping at the finish line. Mac has not only gotten further into the mysterious battle for her world, she's gained new (potential) allies and even more enemies. The struggle to keep the walls up is really intense, with new revelations increasing the stress at every turn.
Mac and Barrons banter remains one my favorite parts, even as the mystery of who/what he really is seems to grow deeper, rather reaching towards an answer. (I have my suspicions...but as of yet they remain unexplored by Mac). I'm really rooting for Barrons over V'lane - there's something about him that I just find unsettling... maybe just because he's Fae? Or maybe because sex with him would always be so dangerous? Or maybe that's the thrill? As for Christian - I think he's a nice guy, but he hasn't got a chance with Barrons and V'lane in the picture.
I've grown to love Dani and really hope that her relationship with Mac will continue to grow. She seems like such a sweet kid (but don't tell her that!) and she's clearly really strong. I know she's had it tough, especially with Rowena. What a major B!
A really fast-paced, action filled, thrilling ride. Have the next book handy when you finish- you will not want to wait!

The Basics:
Faefever starts exactly where Bloodfever left off, with our heroine, Mac, lying in a dirty puddle, writhing in agony from being near the most evil of evil objects. If you don't know that that is, I suggest you read the previous two books. This series must be read in order, and is all excellent, so get to it.
My Thoughts:
Like I said, Faefever picks up immediately from where Bloodfever ended. Mac is close to the Sinsar Dubh and has finally figured out who has it. Kind of. She now knows where it is. Kind of. It's complicated, but Mac is smart and she's putting the pieces together. Much of this book is Mac going out and gathering any bits of information that she can. She's no longer at the mercy of those around her. She's doing things on her terms now.
Much like the previous book, Faefever spends a lot of time focusing on world-building rather than plot progression. Although there is more of the latter than in Bloodfever. I had completely forgotten every single thing that happens in this book except for that final chapter, which is like...damn. Mac is in big trouble now! Nothing she learned could have prepared her for the inevitability of the wall between man and fae coming down.
My favorite part of Faefever was definitely Barrons and V'lane finally interacting and ganging up on Mac. Of course this made my mind wander into other realms and dirty possibilities, because obviously. A girl can dream! But even without that, that scene had me smiling. The two most powerful men in Mac's life going head to head. Who comes out on top?
Faefever is the darkest and most intense of the series so far. So much is going on to set up for the next book. And that cliffhanger? Make sure you have Dreamfever on hand.
