These books are excellent! They remind me a little of BDB, even if they are very different. It's similar in the ways that the demons find their mates. However, their enemies are not at all the same, and the suspense is excellent. The descriptions of the characters and the places are wonderful, I feel like I know them all very well, and would definitely recognize them if I met them ;)

Runa Wagner made the mistake of falling for a man who only went by the name of Shade. Before Shade, Runa was shy and never took risks but Shade was patient with her and truly seemed to care for her. That illusion is shattered the night that Runa walked in on Shade with not one but two other women. That night Runa's life was altered forever.

It's been quite awhile since Shade had woken up shackled to a wall and can't remember why. This time is different and it certainly isn't good. Shade's cellmate might even be more dangerous than his enemy. Runa's had a year to cool down but her life has changed so much since that long ago night and she lays the blame squarely at Shade's feet. Before she can seek her vengeance, she and Shade have to survive and work together long enough to escape their extra-crispy captor. Before they are able to escape their dungeon, their captor bonds them. Doesn't sound too bad right? Well Shade has carried a curse  for the past 80 years. Should he fall in love, a fate worse than death awaits him.

This is a book that left me breathless. I was constantly being surprised and Ione holds back no punches. The characters are so vivid you would almost believe that they're real. A mystery from the first book is resolved and the bad guy is so dirty and vile he made my skin crawl. Ione grabbed my attention from the beginning and did not let up . If you enjoyed the first in the series, be sure to follow up with the second. It is not to be missed!

I really an starting to fall in love with this series. It is reminds me a lot of JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series. If you liked that series, you will like this one also. This series has demons instead of vampires (also no lesser, which are the worst part of BDB books). The demons cane take on life-mates just like in the BDB series and are extremely protective of their mates. There are also some interesting pairings in this series for mating. Also, each book is about a different pairing (Pleasure Unbound is about Eidolon, Desire Unchained about Shade, Passion Unleashed is about Wraith, etc.).

I cannot wait to read about Wraith. I don't even know where to begin. Desire Unchained was absolutely fantastic! Ione's second effort in her Demonica series was even better than the first. The story is about Shade and Runa. Runa was a human female that Shade was involved with in the first book. They come together again through the machinations of a psycho demon. Shade learns that Runa was attacked by a warg (aka werewolf) and has become one. Runa works for the government and is sent to learn about the demon hospital that Shade and his brothers run.

Though dark at times, I loved the relationship between Shade and Runa. They both had some serious issues to deal with, but the resolutions were deep and true. Their attraction to each other was fierce and hot. This author brings a level of realness to her paranormal world and I was sucked in from the beginning. There was so much suspense, action, humor; you name it, this story had it. It was extremely difficult to put this down and I highly recommend it. I cannot wait to get my greedy little hands on the next one. 5 stars
