Will Samantha Madison handle the changes ahead of her?
Samantha Madison
Samantha Madison is our point-of-view character, and she tells us how her story happens. She is the middle child of three girls. Her older sister is Lucy, the popular girl at their school that's also a cheerleader and dating a guy named Jack, and her younger sister Rebecca. Rebecca is the genius of the family who goes to a school for smart kids, and she isn't that great at socializing. Sam ends up having to go to an art class after school because her sister found her celeb drawings with other girls at school in them and she was charging them money for these drawings. She goes to this art class, and on the second day, she saves the president's life. So, now she's famous, and a guy in her art class happens to be the president's son.
Sam ends up going through the story thinking she's in love with her sister's boyfriend, Jack, who happens to be an artist like her, and she believes they have so much in common. When in reality, maybe they don't. She goes through a major transformation throughout the whole story. Sam is still just a fifteen-year-old girl trying her hardest not to fall for any social pressures. Her love life is built on questionable standards.
Five Stars
All American Girl by Meg Cabot is about Sam Madison getting used to the idea that she saved the president's life and now everyone is going by her example like any other celebrity they see. Sam's life is now going to high school, dodging reporters, and trying to figure out her love life. I like how Sam goes from being a whiny teenager to being a somewhat better teenager that isn't so whiny.
I am giving All American Girl by Meg Cabot five stars and a recommendation to anyone that wants to read an early 2000 young adult romance again.
