As much as I enjoyed A Stitch in Time, I believe I enjoyed A Twist of Fate even more. Rosalind was a character we were introduced to - in that she's August's missing (dead?) wife - and I longed to truly meet her and get her story.

I think what made this slightly stronger was two-fold. (1) While Bronwynn time traveled into the past and was able to return to her time easily, Rosalind time traveled into the future and could not get back to her time. Bronwynn went into a world we know - even if it's been misremembered in finer details, it's not wholly unknown. Rosalind had nothing to guide her as she's cast into the future. (2) Rosalind had an infant that her accidental time traveling made her leave behind.

These two elements made Rosalind's story more tragic and more desperate. Watching her able to finally return and the anxiety, the challenges, the heartache of seeing her son -all of that made for a very compelling story and you couldn't but hope for her to have a happy ending.

And yet, on top of that, the mystery and ghost element of this book also felt so much more significant and dire. I was not sure for most the book what was actually happening and found the resolution very satisfying. I loved getting to know Rosalind, her young son Edmund, and her husband August better. And I'm very excited to get to know her sister in the third book!

I listened to A Twist of Fate, narrated by Gemma Dawson. I enjoyed the narration quite a lot, though I was surprised to have a different narrator than in the first book. It was a comfortable transition between books and the characters voices carried between books well. I was able to listen at my normal 2x speed comfortably.
