My review and rating were somehow lost, so my review won't be as detailed as before.

This is the conclusion to this series and we even get to see what happens to Chloe's group from Darkest Powers series.

This book wasn't as action heavy as last book but overall I enjoyed it. I did like the ending and was kind of sad that the series was over. Even though it wasn't as much action, all our questions get answered and and we get a conclusion. I don't remember there being anything that was missed or forgotten to answer.

I loved reading this series and Darkest Powers and would recommend them both to anybody. Overall I was very pleased with what was written.

Once again, I'm going to be gushing over Kelley Armstrong this whole review. What I really love about her is that she's fantastic at anything she writes. Whether it's a young adult novel, like this one, or an adult novel or even a children's novel. Everything she writes is amazing.

This book did not disappoint me. It was written with her usual fantasticness. It was also a perfect ending. The problem wasn't completely resolved but it was good enough. It was actually a pretty cool ending. The rest of the book was awesome too. I liked all the running around and meeting new people. I loved the new characters that were introduced. They were all really cool. Plus I loved learning about the other experiments. That was fun.

What I love most about this book is that it's even more connected to her world in the Women of the Otherworld series. I like how she actually mentioned some names of characters we've seen in other books. That was really, really cool. I wish she would have dine more. I miss the other characters.

I liked all the characters, the same as always. They actually change throughout the series, like normal humans should. I was a little upset with who Maya ended up with but I'll get over it. I really loved Rafe, he was my favourite by far. I also love Sam though too. She's just super cool. Actually, I love all the characters. Except like Nicole but she's not important. It's hard to choose a favourite character because they're all so good!

This was a perfect ending!

Being a big fan of Armstrong’s Darkest Powers series, I have been invested in this companion series since the beginning. Even if Maya is not Chloe, they are both great heroines. The conclusion did not disappoint.

The Rising picks up right where The Calling ended and finds our heroes (at least some of them) still on the run. One thing that I’m not too happy about is the instances of getting captured-escaping-getting captured again. It was actually confusing, but I understand the logic behind it, especially since the story is told from Maya’s point of view and we wouldn’t know what was going on with the rest of the crew otherwise.

The story is really fast paced; I think the whole trilogy happened in about two weeks. It reads like a paranormal thriller with teens that have been experimented upon and have all sort of strange powers. The best part of The Rising is that we get to see the crew from the Darkest Powers series! I was so glad to know how Chloe and Derek are doing, although it seemed like not much time has passed between both series. Maya and her crew realized (with the help of Maya’s biological father) that it was pointless to keep running from the cabals and it was better to come to some type of agreement. This is basically what the story is about and how they get to that point.

I was happy with the ending, everything got nicely tied up, BUT there is always room for more as our heroes are all still teens and will grow into their powers. I’m very happy for Maya and her chosen love interest (pardon the theatrics but I don’t want to spoil it for you).

This book was the end of two YA trilogies set in Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld world. If you haven't read her YA books, I think they are pretty good. While there is very little overlap between her YA and adult books, it is the same world and some of the adult characters are mentioned and we even see one in this book. But mostly, it is the same world, witches, sorcerers, werewolves, necromancers (most of which are in the first trilogy, Darkest Powers). In this trilogy, you meet new types of supernaturals. This book brings the two YA trilogies together. Characters you met in the first trilogy, come into this trilogy.

This was a great ending to a story that I've been following for several years now. This doesn't come as a huge surprise, because she did a great job ending the Women of the Otherwold series.

This story is action packed and quick read. There is a small amount of YA angst, but it isn't as bad as most. I don't normally read much YA because I got sick of this part of the YA books. There is of course the "love triangle" that I could've done without.

If you've read Ms. Armstrong's Otherworld series, I highly recommend this series, even if you aren't big in YA.

In this the finale of the Darkness Rising series, Kelley Armstrong wrote a complete ending to a well loved series. Readers who have also read the Darkest Powers series, will enjoy seeing the kids from Lyle House months on from leaving the experiment. The ending is quite surprising, but fans of the series will be thrilled with the outcome.

The Rising is an incredibly adventurous and exciting conclusion to Kelley Armstrong's Darkness Rising series. It will absolutely stun and wow readers, as they embark on an intriguing, adventure filled journey. Armstrong does a wonderful job of revisiting uncovering old secrets that have been hidden away and the return of unexpected characters that will leave readers feeling like they've just ran into an old friend. It is a whirlwind of emotions that are unexpected and goes from one extreme to the next. Vastly different from the ending of the Darkest Powers trilogy, the way that Armstrong manages to bring both this trilogy and that one together, is incredibly inspiring and uniquely powerful. It works in so many ways, making the conclusion of this story even more amazing.

Kelley Armstrong is simply amazing for bringing back Chloe and Derek and integrating them so flawlessly into the storyline. Their return added so much more depth and layer's to this already compelling and daringly fantastic story. The tension and the drama, was thick and definitely persistent, but it made for such an interesting read. There were unexpected twists and turns, so much plot and character development, and amazing action and danger. Armstrong did such a terrific job of wrapping up things with a completely stunning ending that will definitely have reader's jaws dropping.

The Rising is definitely one of those thrilling conclusions to a trilogy, that will leave reader's breathless and on the edge of their seats. They will want to revisit this world again and again, long after this series is finished. Completely unputodwnable, The Rising, is one off the year's best conclusion to such an epic journey that has wowed and captivated fans of Armstrong's paranormal writing abilities. Fans of the paranormal genre, will definitely not want to miss out on this gem!
