The story dragged. I felt like there wasn’t as much plot here as there needed to be, so events happened very slowly to make up for it. The climax waits for the last possible second, and while entertaining, it ended on a highly depressing note. Normally, I would like such a severity of the story, but it left that indigestion feeling. The action was well written and engaging, so it was a bit of a page turner, but I was less than thrilled with the ending.
The characters here haven’t changed much from the first novel. Tempest is growing a little and has become easier to tolerate, but that is about it really. I still love Kona, even if I have a feeling that I shouldn’t love him. I have a feeling the love triangle is going to ruin my love for him. Still not a fan of Mark. I want to be, but I just don’t dig him.
In a way, I enjoyed this book better than it’s predecessor, but it did have it’s flaws. Still one of the better mermaid series on the market right now that I have come across.
