I love this series so much! And this installment doesn’t disappoint! Dewitched is a whirlwind of action brought in the form of Stevie’s less-than-maternal mother and her new husband, as well as a surprise visit from the last person she expected to see.

Mystery and murder seem to find Stevie, and she is left to solve it in order to clear her own name, that of someone she cares about, or to help a friend. The author is brilliant at weaving each mystery with the quirky cast of characters in Ebenezer Falls. And in Dewitched, there is a big pool of possible suspects and lots of twists and turns to keep the mystery completely engrossing.

It’s often the little things I love most about Dewitched and the series as a whole. The dynamic between Stevie and her two ghosts, Win and Arkady, and that between the ghosts themselves. The witty banter. Belfrey the bat and his slightly demented family members. The relationship, whether good or bad, between Stevie and the local police.

Whether it’s the primary storyline, or the secondary thread running through the entire series, it’s a series that’s impossible to put down. Each book fully delivers, and Dewitched is no different!

After a bit of a break from the series it was fun to come back to Stevie's craziness! It was easy to jump back in and remember what was going on, which was fun. I read this a couple weeks ago and then binged the rest of the published books in the series without writing reviews... ooops. So bear with me on this quick review.

I really like the characters, particularly Stevie's familiar Belfry and spy-ghost friend Win. Her relationship with the police really bothers me though. She makes fun of the detectives and acts like they are incompetent and she's more equipped to solve cases than they are. I can say, having binged the rest of the series, that this develops a bit and she does seem to grow in respect for the detectives. But in this book, it's still a problem.

And while I get that Stevie having a mother that is self-involved is part of the back-story, it wasn't my favorite part of this story. I did, however, enjoy her meeting her dad for the first time. That was interesting and suspicious all in one.

Overall it's fun and I quickly grabbed the next book.

This is an audiobook love. I think the narrator is perfect to bring this quirky, fun series to life.

This is a lighthearted, fun series and a quick read. I definitely recommend the audiobook version since Hollie Jackson adds a spark of life to all the characters.

In this third book, Stevie has finished the renovations on the old Victorian house, at the direction of her ghostly “spy-guy” Win, because every ghost needs a built-in pizza oven, Right? But Stevie has to admit the old house is now a showstopper. In fact, to celebrate, Win has had Stevie invite the whole town to a housewarming, and includin a gourmet chef, acrobats and entertainers. It will be quite the memorable night.

Especially since Belfry’s family shows up for it, as well as Stevie’s mother and new stepfather, No. 5, maybe? Yeah, No. 5. Not sure what is more shocking to Stevie, the appearance of her real father, a mega-movie star…in Japan, or the murder of her stepfather. Is it just coincidental or is there more to her father’s arrival that night?

As always, Stevie, Win and Belfry can’t keep from getting in the middle of the investigation.

Since Stevie is focused on murders lately in her sleepy little town, she has forgotten that the deceased Warlock who witchslapped her powers is still trying to get to her, and Win, from the other side. Stevie has felt a tingle of her old powers but it won’t be enough against his evil magic.

After the last local murder, Stevie is hoping for a return to normalcy. If normalcy is, a swanky housewarming party that her ghost, Win convinced her to have. It’s a party complete with acrobats, orchestra members, and ice sculptures. She has invited all the townsfolk and Lord help her, even her mother. By now, the reader/listener knows that Stevie’s life is anything but normal. As the caterers set up, and the orchestra begins to tune their instruments, Stevie gets a surprise visitor and in the next breath learns that Belfry’s family is arriving TODAY. Could things get worse? How about murder, in the dining room with a…wait that’s CLUE, however, there is a murder and her own mother becomes a suspect.

In case you haven't guessed, I am thoroughly enjoying the Witchless Seattle series. Each book involves a new murder mystery that Stevie ends up getting involved in whether it is to clear her name, help a friend or in this case clear her own mother. Cassidy weaves an interesting case filled with plenty of suspects, local law enforcement, and spiritual entities.

As Stevie investigates, we meet town folk and learn about our characters. In Dewitched, we learn more about the warlock, who took Stevie’s powers, meet the parents, spend time with Belfry’s wild and crazy relations and learn more about ex-spy and resident ghost Winterbottom. Cassidy does all this while weaving in hilarious banter, Stevie’s commentary all on Win’s smooth guidance. I love the little things, like the banter between local law enforcement and Stevie as she investigates.

Cassidy delivers danger, twists and surprise suspects as Stevie snooping soon makes her a target. Secondary threads involving a certain Warlock, Win and the stranger who visited enhanced the overall ARC and kept me listening. While the murderer ended up surprising us, I enjoyed how Cassidy tied it all together.

Whenever I listen to this series, I know I am in for a treat. Hollie Jackson’s voices for the characters from Win’s British accent to Belfry’s high-pitched squeals are brilliant. Cassidy’s snarky protagonist and slapstick humor lend themselves perfectly to the audiobook format. I cannot imagine simply reading these stories.
