Remember how I said that Volume 1 was enjoyable but predictable? Well Til Death Volume 2 was anything but predictable! Within the first chapter I'd gasped in shock at least twice and pretty much kept going that way until the end. I gobbled it up and will be keeping my eye out for other books by this author for sure.
One of the things that I loved about Til Death Volume 2 was how, despite being fairly short, Jewel managed to take the characters through quite the progression. Marcus wasn't that unexpected but Katia! Holy crap, I don't want to spoil anything, but her character's evolution was NOTHING like I expected! As you'll notice in the synopsis, we do get a HEA in Til Death Volume 2, but I was surprised by the road traveled to get there and I think it made me appreciate that end all the more.
You may also notice that I'm no longer classifying Til Death Volume 2 as erotica. Well, I said it was erotica light before, but with volume 2, it's really just a romance with steam. Which is PERFECTLY fine with me - I think the story took over and got better where the steam disappeared.
I continued to be happy with Roger Wayne and Lidia Dornet’s narration as well. I ended up listening to Volume 2 at 1.5 speed and their voices held up, which was nice. The high pitchiness didn't bother me at all this time around and Roger's narration continued to seduce. All in all, Til Death Volume 2 was a win!
