This is the first book i read by this author and i have to say i gonna go back and read the others that are sitting on my shelf cause i love this book and i need to know more about the seven realms. I love how their is a mystery behind Jenna and she is just as clueless about her magemark and background as us the readers so all the info she discovers along way is as much a surprise to her as it is to us as the readers. I got to say any book that can involve dragons, pirates and mystery is one i for sure want to read very well done.

It was kind of slow and boring.

There's this horrible, annoying, awful thing that happens at the start. If you've read Seven Realms you'll hate it.

There's a horrible instalove.

But in the last 10% something really kind of cool and promising happened. I'm going to read book two because I think this might go in a really interesting direction. DRAGONS!

The secondary characters are way more interesting than the 2 main protagonists.
I hope Lila, Destin and Evan will get more focus in the next books!
