Crashing into Love tells the story of former high school sweethearts Jake Braden and Fiona Steele. These two were hopelessly in love with each other and had their lives planned out. However, circumstances led to Fiona ending the relationship ultimately breaking Jake’s heart.
Jake took the break-up hard. In a bid to exorcise her from his heart he began living life in the fast lane. He thrived on taking risks, both in his professional and personal life. Now, sixteen years later, Fiona has returned and is determined to win him back. He, however, is determined to avoid her at all cost. Will Fiona succeed in winning back Jake’s love? Will Jake be able to let go of past hurts and rekindle his love with Fiona?
I fell totally and completely with Jake, despite his whoring ways. It was a welcome change to see the vulnerable side of the male protagonist. It shows that men may appear like they are tough, but deep down they are just as susceptible to emotional pain as their female counterpart. Jake tried to get away from his feelings for Fiona but it was a futile effort. I loved Fiona’s determination. She is willing to fight for what she wants even if it meant facing rejection from the man she loves. I loved that both parties accepted that their love of sixteen years ago was not the same today. I love that Jake is willing to change his risky ways. This proved how much he has grown.
Crashing into Love is a beautiful story about second chances. I am a firm believer in giving second chances as such I was rooting for Jake and Fiona. I loved every moment spent reading and I believe this is a fitting end to what I consider to be a great series. If you have never read Melissa Foster’s work and you are looking for a new to sink your teeth in then the Love in Bloom would be a great start.
It should be noted that each book can be read as a stand-alone.
