But it's the unique choices of nuance, tone, and tradition, that turn this vampire story into something fun and fascinating. First of all, this book is very much a James Rollins thriller. The fact that there are vampires is just a bonus. Fans of vampire fiction will love this book. But fans of Rollins other books will find it every bit as action packed and meticulously plotted. That Rollins has teamed with Rebecca Cantrell for this new series was nothing short of brilliant decision because the end result is a smash hit. The two make a dynamic writing team and have produced a thrilling new first book in what I am now sure will be a powerful new series.
