Cocktails and Books
Although filled with action and great characters, I found it a bit slow to really get started. The story just seemed to drag on far longer than I felt was necessary. That being said, eventually the story did pick up. However, I still I found a lot of the dialogue to be redundant and unnecessary. At times, even the main character comes across as a real jerk and not likable.
Perhaps it was wrong timing for me. I just couldn’t seem to get in to the story. Do I give up on it entirely and call it a day? I’m thinking no. On the off chance that maybe it was a fluke and I was just not in the right frame of mind for it, I’ve decided to wait a couple of months and try rereading it. Feehan had never let me down before Viper Game so I see no reason why this time would be different. So my current recommendation is Read at your own risk.
