Cambridge Storybooks is a series of readers for very young learners of English. The Pyjama Party playscript tells the story of Emma's exciting birthday party where she has dancing, pillow fights, ghost stories and some mysterious vanishing jam tarts! It is one of six playscripts from the Cambridge Reading Range of Genres Strand (Stories With Familiar Settings) for children in Key Stage 1/Primary 2 and 3. This guided group reading pack of six comes with free teacher notes containing general guidance on using the play together with more specific teaching points and follow-up activities, allowing children to practice reading, speaking and listening skills. There are six characters in this play, and the order in which the characters are listed on the page reflects the contribution they make. The Pyjama Party playscript is an adaptation of an existing Cambridge Reading storybook which gives children the opportunity to reinforce their reading of the original text.

The Coral Reef Big Book Literacy Pack 2ed comprises teacher's notes, 6 pupils' books and 1 Big Book version of the Towards Independence book, Coral Reef. The teacher's notes contain separate notes for guided and shared reading and have been completely rewritten.

Osprey

A major reading scheme for the teaching of reading and the development of literacy throughout the primary years. Suitable for children in Year 1 (age 5), Osprey is one of nine books from the Cambridge Reading non-fiction strand. This strand has been designed to introduce young readers to information retrieval skills. Six books in this strand have been written by Meredith Hooper. Three of which - Dinosaur, Osprey and Seal, illustrated by Bert Kitchen - are concerned with living things. The remaining three - The Bridge, The Forest and The Harbour, illustrated by Peter Kent - investigate the effect of human intervention on the landscape. Each book uses two levels of text, with the second level being more challenging. Cambridge Reading at Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) includes fiction, non-fiction, poetry and plays to offer children a variety of text types, authors and illustrators and provide a firm base for wider reading.
