Romance Schmomance
I will never turn down a Kennedy Ryan book and Queen Move is here! And what a read it turned out to be with a friends to lovers/second chance romance that you'll feel to the depths of your soul. Compared to the other books I've read by her, it wasn't high up there on the emotional scale and I'll be honest, I was pretty thankful for that. If it were, I'd be an absolute mess!
I loved the topics that Kennedy chose to write through her characters, Kimba and Ezra. I am a Jewish brown girl still trying to very much navigate it all since it is still new to me. And with Kimba and what she goes through throughout this story, I understood her on different level. To me, I was able to connect to them almost instantly.CHECK OUT THE REST OF MY REVIEW | HERE

Linda
Ms. Ryan did it again! She wrote a beautiful, haunting story with characters that are truly amazing. Both Kimba and Ezra were so very honest, and they were trying very hard to do the right thing - always. Even when doing the right thing is really hard.
I loved that they were so close when they were children, and up until they were 13 years old, then lost touch with each other after something happened and Ezra moved away. It wasn't exactly like a second chance at love romance, but it was very close - just like it wasn't exactly like friends to lovers, but again, very close.
Kimba's family was great, too, and I just loved how supportive they all were towards each other. I could have stayed in Kimba and Ezra's world for much longer, but I was still completely satisfied with everything 3
Written in dual points of views, in first person singular, I really got to know Kimba and Ezra very well. I recommend this book to all romance readers - it's simply beautiful!
Lorelei's Lit Lair
Queen Move is a childhood besties and reunion romance trope. Kimba and Ezra are two wonderful characters, who since very young have a unique bond. Ms. Ryan writes a story which takes you from the beginning of their lives, through the highs and lows of their youth, a journey sharing very special moments, first love, then torn apart due to unexpected events during their teens.
Their paths cross again as adults, but circumstances are different. The flame of their friendship and love never died, and when they see each other after so many years, they can't deny how they feel about each other and do everything they can to get back together. But of course it isn't that easy. Kimba has priorities to consider, and so does Erza. There are a some obstacles, too. It will take time.
I loved every single page of this story. There's diversity in cultures, beliefs, a beautiful relationship between Kimba and Ezra's families, which I loved. Also, great friendships, sense of community, legacies, and a beautiful and passionate romance, which was off the charts. It's definitely on the steamy side. But don't let that stop you from reading Queen Move if you're sensitive to passionate love scenes. You'll miss out an a fantastic story.
I feel as if Kennedy Ryan's storytelling is a category of its own. Her stories have depth, drama, diversity, romance, family bonds and values. They're well paced and have everything to keep you engaged from beginning to end. I swooned, laughed, cried and swooned some more, and loved their happily ever after. Ms. Ryan is one of my top favorite authors. I highly, HIGHLY recommend Queen Move to other readers.
