I felt like nothing happened in this book. It felt like a filler book instead of a book with a plot. Everything about it annoyed me. The 'romance', the 'love triangle'. It was cliche and predictable, the world was flat and bland, Alex pissed me off.
The love triangle pisses me off more than anything else. I hate that she is so hung up on Aiden. I really don't like the guy, he's just not that interesting and feels like such a bore. I do however love Seth, he has all the sex appeal. The only thing is I know where this triangle is going; heart break. Alex can't be with both guys yet she's given herself over to both in different ways. So unfair.
Alex is treated like a princess and it drives me crazy, she acts like her relationship with Aiden is the only thing in the world that matters, she's still self-centered, and I still never felt like she was in any real danger. I just knew she would end up being alright because everyone else would protect her or let her off with a lighter punishment. It annoyed me. She annoyed me. The fact that everyone loves her annoys me.
But of course I now have to finish this series. I'm already dying to know what happens next.

Also, I am very much a "the first guy is the right guy" kind of reader, but Armentrout is making me second, and third, guess myself. At this point I cannot pick between Aiden and Seth! Way to go!

Pure is explosive, emotional and edgy. Alex Andros is a kick ass heroine. She's strong and isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in. She is irrational though and that can be her downfall, and hurt those around her. Well written. It's brilliant how the back story of the covenants, pure and half bloods and gods are woven throughout each book, it only tells you what you need to know at that particular point, so there are no long drawn out lectures. A step up from Half Blood by far. Itching to start Deity.

The way I saw this book, there was a lot of struggle. Alex has more on her doorstep, makes you wonder how she handles it all or if she even does? If you were #TeamAiden in the first book, be prepared to have your mind to switch sides to #TeamSeth. Let me just, I'll forever and always be #TeamAiden, but you will gain a soft spot for Seth. Armentrout made it impossible to hate Seth! Yes, he's very cocky, extremely arrogant, but you'll learn more about his story in this one. And the time Alex and Seth spend together, it's pretty humorous. It's evident that there's a strong connection between them, so I'm curious to see how it'll all unfold (or not) as the series goes on.
I'm completely hooked on this series, it's ridiculous or well maybe it's not. The story and the world just keep on developing and one thing that I love witnessing is the growth of Alex. It's little by little, but I'm sure by the time we reach the end of the series, she will have faced so much, she'll be a strong woman. She's already there, but I know her path has so many barriers to get through. There's just so many things to love and I'm ecstatic for the next one, keep the good times rolling!

This installment was pretty heart wrenching. I’m pretty sure Jennifer L. Armentrout wanted to make sure she not only ripped my heart out but stomped on it a little. Big things happen in this book and Alex’s actions are not without consequences.
Alex was a little tamer I think. It’s interesting how her character has changed from book to book. From Daimon, to Half-Blood to now Pure. She is still “irrational” and wild but there but it seems she is more aware of that the things she does effect more than just her own life. I think the ending events in Half-Blood helped her make this transition.
So I am sorry, I did like Seth better in this book but there is just something off about that boy. I’m still 100% team Aiden. I feel like Seth has definitely changed and especially the way he treats Alex. I just feel like there’s a darker side to his intentions. While even though Aiden might not admit to it, he does everything for Alex simply because he cares about Alex. Aiden comes across as being duty bound but I think in the case of Alex, it’s more about keeping her safe. He would rather protect her than get what he wants whereas Seth. Not so much. Aiden has his hot headed moments but Seth seems to have almost no control. Maybe reading so many books has made me less trusting. I don’t we will see.
The pacing was perfect and I of course found myself stealing away a few minutes even if it meant I could only read about 10 pages. I didn’t want to put it down and it’s one of those series where having 5 books is going to kill me! Absolutely!
This book has a pretty powerful punch to it. I don’t want to give anything away but those leering Furies statues are not just for show. Freaking creepy. We also learn more about the New York covenant and how the council works. We get some peeks into their meetings. There were parts of this book that had my heart breaking and not always the way you would think. I don’t want to give too much away on the plot because there are a ton of things that happen in this book that I think will be important as the series develops. Plus plenty of plot twist, I think Jennifer L. Armentrout has that mastered.
A great side character, Leon has quickly become a favorite of mine. I love the way you can tell he cares about the other characters even though he doesn’t show it. He’s a strong presence throughout the book. Also Caleb, Deacon and Luke make me laugh.
I started this series because I was a fan of The Lux series and I can tell you I’m at a point that I’m not sure if I could choose between the two. Just another amazing series from Jennifer L. Armentrout and I am most certainly a fan-girl now.

Starting off where the first book left off, Alex is back in school, doing extra training sessions with Seth and Aiden while dealing with the loss of her mother from the first book. There is so much that Alex goes through in this book, and not just the remnants of what happened before. There is more loss, death and heartbreak and it’s a wonder how she makes it through it all.
Alex is still stubborn, has anger issues and gets into fights and does stupid things, but she really does start to learn and change in this book. She learns more about herself, a little bit more control and when to admit and learn from her mistakes. She still has the romance issue, where Aiden is forbidden and he won’t be with her, and Seth who she fights with constantly but somehow finds comfort in him at the important times. I’m honestly rooting for Seth, I mean come on, he’s the Apollyon!
A good part of this book is spent at the New York Covenant, building up to Alex’s hearing in front of the all powerful Council. They want her testimony from the events of Gatlinburg from the last book, and everyone is worried that her sharp tongue and violent actions could get her in way more trouble then she would at home. The hearing was of course awesome, although Telly is a big douche.
Now the furies, they show up as statues at the different Covenants near the beginning of the book, pretty much as insurance from the Gods in case anything happens. They don’t actually awaken until near the end of the book. I wanted to mention them because they are awesome in a dark way, they inspire fear in everyone just by being solid, and they’re crazy when they finally do get released and start attacking everyone the fight that happens is great. The ending definitely has a sad moment, and leaves us on a cliffhanger, asking what’s going to happen next.
One of my favourite scenes is actually when Alex has some brew (you will find out when you read it), the way she acts is just so hilarious and unlike her and I couldn’t stop laughing! I felt bad for Seth having to babysit her, I know when I get giggling fits my fiance just looks at me weirdly and tries to stay away until I stop.
This book was just as good as the first, and definitely a must read series!
