Poor Sookie. In Dead and Gone she gets pulled into fae politics because of her allegiance to her great-grandfather, and her enemies are very powerful. Eric is still having trouble with the Louisiana take-over, and mostly Bill is just being Bill. Starting this book the Sookie Stackhouse is taking a bit of a different direction I think, with really bad things happening to Sookie. I think the supernatural world is just getting a bit too much for her.

I thought the book was good, but I'm just not feeling the same about these books as I did in the beginning. Sometimes I feel like the writer just doesn't have her heart into these books anymore and it's all about publishing more books.

Well written and witty, my only major complaint was that it seemed to go by too quickly and that the plots started didn't really feel fully resolved at the end. I wish I had the next one on me, guess I'm going to have to go to the bookstore! (or amazon).

A lot happens in this book. A lot. And it seems like every character that’s ever made an appearance in the series shows up. I think that in the end, too much happens, and the stuff that’s important isn’t fully developed. I was a little surprised at what happens to some of the characters at the end of the book, but I’m glad that Harris has the guts to kill off major characters, not just the minor ones. This isn’t the best book in the series, and it’s full of holes, but it’s still candy for my supe-loving brain.

As usual Harris has delivered a wonderful book, and what made it even better...Eric. Overall I enjoyed it, the action is mostly at the end but the fact that Eric finally came around to admitting it made up for it.
