When this book came out, I saw several early reviews for it and got really scared because people who normally gave this series a sound 5+ stars, were only giving this one 3. I was very hesitant to read because I didn't want to read a subpar book about Ty and Zane. I'm glad I finally read it. While it isn't my favorite book in the series, I still enjoyed it.
In this book, Ty and Zane go on a "vacation" to Scotland for a wedding for Ty's brother. If you've followed the series, you know that every time these two go on vacation, that spells trouble, to the point that they won't even use the word. Deuce, Ty's brother, request that Ty bring one of his old Marine buddies as extra security for his daughter. Ty calls Nick who brings along Kelly as his "date with a gun", read [b:Shock & Awe|18005253|Shock & Awe (Sidewinder, #1)|Abigail Roux|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1373796580s/18005253.jpg|25270022] to learn more about this pairing.
Well, we find out that Deuce's future father-in-law has had many threats to him and his family for some of his military contracts that his company is handling. This is why the request for extra security for the daughter of the bride and groom. As people on the Scottish island start dying and the transportation and communication is cut off from the mainland, is seems that the threat is real.
Not only are Ty and Zane featured a lot in this book, but Nick and Kelly get a ton of page time. We learn a ton about Ty and Nick's past going all the way back to bootcamp. We also see many of the repercussions of Ty and Nick going back into the mission that takes place between [b:Touch & Geaux|16159276|Touch & Geaux (Cut & Run, #7)|Abigail Roux|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1353342638s/16159276.jpg|22000005] and this book. I love seeing Ty in this light. He is such an interesting character, you never know what is going through his head.
There is one last book in this series and at least one more of the Sidewinder spinoffs. I will be sad to see the last of the boys, but it will be great to see their happy ending. I will miss the action and disaster that follows them around. The humor with which they are able to face everything is wonderful. Who says that the feds can't have a sense of humor?
