Joséphine
Initial thoughts: Oh, Anna was such a joy to read! That might sound a little odd since Anna's story is a rather sad one a lot of the time. Thing is, she's such an idealist, so her worldview is a comforting one, even if her reality doesn't match up a lot of the time. I love her voice and her enthusiasm that seeps through the pages. Prowse's writing style fits the story and the character incredibly well, so I savoured every word I read.
This might not be the most original tale because it basically is a boy-meets-girl story but the approach is a neat one — first we have her side of the story, then in the book of Theo, readers find out his. After reading her side, I can't wait to read his.
