Is it really 'Carrie' Diaries, or should I say, 'Maggie' Diaries?



I'm sure as hell that all drama has been caused by Maggie and the story seems to focus on her - birth control pills, breaking up with Walt, making Peter her new bf, more cigarette puffing, discovering Walt's secret, being cheated on by Peter with Jen P. and a whole lot of mess!

So where's Carrie in the mess? Apparently, she's the too-goody who wouldn't want to upset everyone. She's so weak and dumb by not picking up signs of her sneaky little bitch best friend who later on steals Sebastian Kydd from her, who by the way was the talk of the town and has the attention of all kids in Castlebury High,

I didn't think I'd like this book, because honestly, [b:Sex and the City|7455|Sex and the City|Candace Bushnell|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1344270731s/7455.jpg|3297002] sucked. Sorry, it just did. As much as I love the show, I didn't like it. It was so confusing! To my surprise, this book was better. A lot.

I started out by feeling I'd read this book before. I've only seen one or two episodes of the show (didn't like it), but it still felt very familiar to me. The plot in this novel was very predictable, but I guess that's okay, because these kinds of books, they just aren't that original in their storylines.

As far as the characters goes, ouch, they were so very immature! I can't believe they were meant to be 18 years old. It's been a few years since I was 18, but still... You don't tell your friends to break up with your boyfriend for you. You do it yourself! It really annoyed me! I couldn't really relate to them, they felt too childish.

I still enjoyed this book though. I liked that Carrie "found her voice." Sometimes, I could almost hear adult-tvshow-Carrie read the lines. It was really well-written. I know I shouldn't be comparing this to the SATC-show, but I can't seperate them, I'm sorry.

Also, the last line really did it for me, and I know that I'll be reading the next book in this series really soon!

In this book Carrie Bradshaw has not yet arrived in New York, she's actually still in Highschool. But even then she was writing. The rest of the plot is quite common: there's a guy she likes, she's having problems with her friends, the cheerleader type of girls suck etc.
Although the book is written really nicely you can tell how the books gonna end after reading 5 pages. It was quite a decent read but it was just nothing new.

For everybody who still wants to know about Carrie Bradshaw's experiences before going to NY the book is gonna be nice but don't expect any surprises. In my opinion the book was okay but nothing more.
