I just started this series late last year. It is a romantic suspense series with a hint of paranormal to it. It focuses around a group of brothers who were bred in test tubes and raised on a military base by the Commander who thought of them as nothing but weapons since the day that they were born. The paranormal aspect comes into play because the greay brothers (named for the color of their eyes) have enhanced abilities, such as, supernatural hearing, healing, and focus on little to no sleep. On top of all these genetic upgrades, they’ve have the best military training in the world.

Blind Faith focuses on Nathan, the second oldest of the Dean brothers. The book starts off with a flashback to when they are still children. It was very sweet to see how Nathan not only wanted to give his two younger brothers a happy childhood and memories with of Christmas, while still protecting his older brother from the consequences that the Commander puts on Nathan to have this little piece of happiness.

The heroine of this story is Audrey Madison. She is the daughter of the head psychiatrist for the Commander. She was raised in a loveless relationship with her mother. Raised by nannies, boarding schools and was little more than a curiosity to her mother. She has no idea who her father is. When she was still high school aged, Dr. Madison set Audrey up with Nathan to see how the Grey brothers would respond to love that wasn’t for one another. She just wants to feel wanted by someone for herself.

Blind Faith takes place in Washington D.C. Audrey is working as an aide to a Senator from Wyoming. She was planted there by the Commander, hoping that she could help get funding for the Commander’s projects pushed through the government. The story is full of everything you would expect with secret military groups, politicians, fanatical lobbying groups. There is lots of murder, backstabbing, and secrets. Add in the Dean brothers, and you have a truly exciting story.

While you could read Blind Faith without reading the other two books first, I do think it is great to see the brother grow throughout the series. I’ve really enjoyed watching how each of the brothers have fallen for each of the women in the series. I’m really excited to get to the last book of the series. The final brother of the series is quite a mystery. The audio release of that book can’t come soon enough.

Narration
This is the first series that I’ve listened to by Karen White. I’ve heard about her a lot, but she doesn’t do many, PNR or UF books, which is my main genre.

I’ve seen her name come up a bunch on contemporary romances, but they are not high on my list, though I do some here and there. She did a great job with the Sin Brothers series. She did a great job with both male and female characters. I hope to find more books with Karen White as the narrator. I really enjoyed her portrayal of Blind Faith and the other Sin Brothers books.

As the story continues, the Dean brothers are still looking for a way to deactivate the chip in their spines. With only three weeks left Nate Dean goes off to find the woman who might have the codes. The one who broke his heart five years ago. He needs to find Dr. Madison’s daughter, Audrey. Nate also needs more answers that just the codes to the chip. He needs to know if what was in Dr. Madison’s diary was true about him and Audrey.

Nate wants to harden his heart to the woman he planned to love for eternity, the one who would make a family with him that he and his brothers always dreamed about and then left him brokenhearted. Except when he sees her across the ballroom floor and hold her in his arms for a dance, the old feelings between them spark anew and although they try to bury them, the love they shared was just too strong to deny for long.

But Nate is correct about one thing, Audrey isn’t the same woman he knew five years ago. She was badly hurt during the brothers’s escape and she owes the Commander for using his medical team to save her life. So to repay the Commander, Audrey has been working for Senator Nash to make sure the Commander’s project is the one that receives the Senator’s committee’s funding. Except Audrey has plans of her own. She is working with the Senator to take down the Commander, but in a world of politics and black ops military, choosing your allies is a tricky business. Nate wants Audrey safe, but until he is certain of her loyalties, he can’t bring her to his family.

With so much on the line, it is even more important for Audrey to make sure the Commander trusts her so she can get into the facility and find the information to save Nate and his brothers. They have lost five years, and she refuses to lose Nate forever.

THOUGHTS:
The Sin Brothers series has been thrilling and captivating so far, but this is my favorite story hands down. You know I’m a sucker for a friends to lover story, and a reunited lover’s story falls under the same trope for me. With these stories you already have a history between the hero and heroine and it is never an unbelievable jump to find the love. From their first dance, you could tell that the embers still burned between these two and it doesn’t take much to stoke that fire.

Nash gave me a strong Captain American vibe so of course in my head I saw him as Chris Evans. He is very protective and morally just. He was the one to try to protect his older brother Matt, as well as give his two younger brothers a feeling of family. He is willing to sacrifice himself to get the information he needs for his brothers, so they have have futures with their new wives.

Audrey too gives off that “sacrifice anything to make things right” vibe. Nate wants to get her safely away from the Commander but she has her own secret motives to stay which she isn’t willing to share with Nate at first since she knows he won’t risk her tangling with the Commander.

**Small Spoilers.*** (show spoiler)[My only annoyance is that in the first two books, Audrey is talked about between the brothers like a conniving, heartless bitch who set up Nate to fall in love with her and to destroy him. Yet, when she explains that the Commander made her break up with him, which she did to protect him, Nate gives her the “yeah, that’s what I figured happened.” If this was no revelation to him, why all the anger toward her in Book #1 and #2. Also, I will complain that plot wise, the Commander making her break up with Nate made no sense. I anticipated that Audrey broke up with Nate because Dr. Madison and the Commander was going to use Nate’s feelings for her to get between Nate and his brothers. The brothers had such a strong bond that the Commander and the Dr. were always trying to screw with them and threaten each of the brothers to keep the other in line. To me, I would think the Commander would find it more useful to use Nate’s feelings for Audrey in a more “chose which one lives: Audrey or your brother” fashion.] (hide spoiler)

This was a great addition to a great series. Sadly the last installment isn’t slated to come out until next March!! Boo to waiting!
