8/6/2019: What a difference 8 years make. I still enjoyed this book but my previous feelings are not the same. I liked Emma and did not think she was stubborn at all! She just wanted to be able to make choices for herself, instead of her life being dictated by her aunts and Lachlain.

Lachlain was a bit of an ass, at first, and had caveman tendencies. He redeemed himself by the end but his insistence she stay with him and never see her family again was ridiculous.

The only "aunt" I found irritating was Annika, since she wanted to coddle Emma and make sure she stayed away from Lachlain. The rest of the Valkyrie did not bother me.

1/28/2011: This was a pretty good read. I really liked Lachlain, but was annoyed by Emma's stubbornness. They both made mistakes, but I liked how everything was resolved. Her aunts really irritated me though. They were very grating and screechy. I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

This was a fun story, with a little too much drama, but fun none the less. Emma grew stronger, and made her own choices, and her mate was very hot :D

I liked this book. I liked the Valkyrie, which I have not read about in any PNR to date.

This I feel was the start of the series, this is where you started getting to know the characters especially the valkaries. Those viscious and hilarious women. And their are characters whom you'll meet in this book that will you meet later on, and will cross with this book well some sections of this book and it will make so much more sense.
