I am a huge fan of this series and Cherry was always one of those characters that I loved because she had no filter, told it like it was and had always been a member of the Devil's Dust MC. I was happy that we were going to get her story....and boy was it one I hadn't been expecting.
Cherry had a pretty rough start to her adulthood. Pregnant in her late teens, child taken away by dirty lawyer, judges and her ex, and her life being threatened led to her run in with Philip "Lip" DeLuca. Lip seemed like her savior, helping to make her feel safe and to find a group of people that she came to think of as her family. But years later, she discovers something that will shake the foundation of her family and make her question everything.
I loved Cherry. I appreciated her attitude after learning how she came to be a part of the Devil's Dust. She would do anything for this group of people who helped her have the first home she's ever really had. Lip was easy to love to, even after his time away and he had a piss poor attitude. I wondered, just like Cherry, what had happened to Lip to make him change so much. And then when that was revealed, I was broken hearted that he couldn't readily admit to how he felt and that it took almost losing Cherry to make him fess up.
This series is always gritty, but the characters, no matter what they do, are easy to love. You forgive them whatever transgressions they may have because it was in the name of the club and/or the love of their women.
I always look forward to seeing what M. N. Forgy will give us next and I think the spin off series, featuring Lip's brother's club in Vegas is going to be pretty awesome. If you've been looking for a fabulous MC romance series, this is definitely one to pick up.
