Recently divorced Solvej rents an isolated farmhouse in Hvium, where her daughter lives with her father. She will be able to see her little girl again - to start over. But Solvej is completely alone, and unable to visit her daughter as often as she'd like. A neighbour, Soren, welcomes her with practical gifts and help around the place. She soon meets others. But just as Solvej begins to feel happy and settled, darkness descends and she discovers the people around Hvium are not as they seem. In a place that hides secrets and lies, Solvej must ask herself: when is it right to step in and when is right not to?
