I absolutely loved reading this! The story was interesting, there was a lot of suspense, and the ending was such a cliff hanger.

The only thing was I felt like we didn’t get enough depth with each character and so all of them felt a little shallow. I felt like I was just getting into the characters chapter but then it would end.

It also felt a bit cookie cutter, I could see the story being set up as I read and most things were overcome really fast. I would have liked it to be longer and had more depth. But otherwise, I enjoyed reading it and can’t wait for the next book!

I LOVED this! Such a quick read and really gripping too. All the characters were interesting in their own ways and I enjoyed all their chapters, which is kind of rare for me. Usually there's at least one character I have zero interest in and hate reading about, but not in this book. Can't wait to read more!

Light Years tells the story of how four strangers have to work together in order to achieve their dreams and save their world.

While reading Light Years, one of the first things that stood out to me is the diversity. In in this sci-fi story, the four main characters, Cormak, Vesper, Arran, and Orelia, come from different places, cultures, and backgrounds. On the surface, they can’t be any more different but deep down they hold similar values.

They also had distinct personalities. After a few chapters, it was pretty easy for me to figure out who was narrating each chapter without looking at the chapter headings. That being said, I feel like some characters were treated a bit more fleshed out than the rest. Even though the four of them share the spotlight, the light shined brighter on some and left others in the dark. Not only in development and narration time but also in their backstories.

I really enjoyed reading about the dynamics between the four of them. I just wish I could have seen a little more of their relationships develop. I felt like there was this weird time jump and suddenly they weren’t really strangers to each other anymore.

The romance in Light Years was also nice. The characters, for the most part, had nice chemistry with one another but it was so so obvious who was going to end up with who. Basically, there weren’t many surprises in the romance department which I found a bit… uninteresting?

Speaking of surprises, I liked the thriller bits the story provides. But they too were a bit predictable. That doesn’t mean there weren’t any great twists (that ending! *gasp*) but it wasn’t as exciting plot-wise as I thought it would be. Still, I devoured Light Years so fast! I don’t think I could have flipped the pages any faster!

And can I just say that I NEED THE SEQUEL! WHERE’S THE SEQUEL?! GIMME THE SEQUEL! The ending definitely took the story in a direction I didn’t expect. It also brings along so many questions I need answers to.

In conclusion, I came here for the plot but stayed for the characters. Some twists were predictable, but others were mindblowing - I’m desperately and impatiently waiting for the sequel!
