This is a story set in a near future Pittsburgh where the city spends most of it's time in the land of the elves. Tinker uses science to work with magic and so her skils are considered very valuable by a lot of people.

When an Elven noble staggers into her scrap yard, an elf she has had dealings with before, being chased by Wargs she rescues him to find herself embroiled in Elven court politics and a lot of other mysteries.

I really enjoyed this book that would appeal to fans of Shadowrun and other cross-genre works.
