I'm one of those impatient people that gives up on a book if I don't get hooked after the first couple of chapters. After 10 chapters, I came to the realization that I. Just. Don't. Care. I didn't find the characters likeable, interesting or easy to relate to. The plot didn't intrigue me, and I felt that I would rather be washing the floor with a toothbrush than to continue reading this book. Big disappointment, glad I didn't bother watching the movie either.

Great book. Anyone who enjoyed the movie must read this book! Much better than the movie. Much more detail, and the plot is slightly different. Great read. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

This is the first book I’ve read in this series, which has been highly recommended to me. I enjoyed it, though Deaver makes Rhyme exceedingly hard to like. In fact, I’m still on the fence about him, but since I liked Amelia I’ll continue on with the series. I did like how the clues were figured out piece by piece...even though there were sudden revelations, they didn’t appear inconceivable.
