Womanizer by Katy Evans

Womanizer (Manwhore, #4)

by Katy Evans

You've seen the headlines: Womanizing billionaire player! Watch out! Stay away!

We were just two strangers. Facing a forbidden attraction, a chemical connection. Neither of us expected or wanted it to amount to more.

But I had never been drawn to a guy the way I was drawn to this one: my brother's best friend, and CEO of the company where I interned. Even knowing I should stay away, I proved to be too human, after all.

The chemistry was amazing.

The laughs were incredible.

I opened up to him in more ways than I'd opened up to anyone before.

But sex was as far as I'd go.

Just sex because he was too irresistible.

Just sex because I wouldn't be falling for him.

Just sex because I'd leave in three months, and I'd like for my brother not to kill me, and for nobody to find out he was my wicked little secret.

He wasn't the One.

He was just a womanizer.

But for a time, he would be mine.

Callan wasn't the stand out best friend to Malcolm Saint that Tahoe was, so I sure what to expect. Him becoming Hot Smoking Guy made me love this guy and want for him to so badly prove to Tahoe's little sister that he had indeed found "The One."

Callan, like Malcolm and Tahoe, was a professed bachelor. He didn't believe he could love someone they way they should when they make that level of commitment to one another. Instead, he tells women what to expect and expects them to remember that. Everything went according to plan until he agrees to have Tahoe's little sister, Olivia, intern at his company.

I loved how these two met. Olivia wondering up to the top floor balcony of the corporate building and running into this stunningly beautiful man who was smoking and whom she convinces to let her bum a cigarette. They begin a flirtation and sorta friendship while sharing a smoke, all while not knowing who the other one is. They share secrets and dreams in the safety of anonymity. But once their identities become known, Callan and Olivia have to figure out if everything they felt was worth changing their plans.

I truly enjoyed everything about Callan and Olivia's romance. I always love when an alpha male who's determined to remain single finds himself knocked on his arse by a woman. Callan finds himself in that exact situation, but it was how he was willing to change his rules and go after his "game changer" that truly had me swooning. No, it wasn't Callan that had the cold feet in this one and that makes him to resist.

My only issue with the family aspect. First, Callan and Tahoe are best friends. I would think at some point, either Olivia and Tahoe would have met, even if it was briefly. Or would have seen a picture of one another. That seemed a little odd. Then there was the missing Carmichael family. It sounded as though Callan had a good relationship with his family...so where were they? This might have bugged me a little bit, but I let it go because what really mattered was Callan and Olivia.
A great addition to the Manwhore series. The best friends are all matched up, so I'm wondering what comes next. I can't wait to find out.
