Meh. I didn't love or hate this book. It was pretty easy for me to put down for the most part. I don't plan on reading the rest of the series which is unusual for me. I think the problem was this was a much told story (girl has unknown power, she learns about it, falls for unavailable boy, drama ensues). Now, I think these trite storylines can be done well. Sadly, this one just didn't have any twists or other memorable events to make it more than a trite, over told story. I really didn't care for any of the characters. I just felt that they weren't really likable at all. I didn't care what happened to them!
I'm not really sure how to rate this book, 3 or 4 stars. I've settled for 3 which does seem a bit harsh because I did enjoy the book and it is a really good story and idea. However, there were lots of things that niggled me and set it apart from the other books I've rated four stars. First was the proof reading, while the first part may have been checked, the closer I got to the end, the worse it got, as though whoever read it got bored of checking it. Unfortunately, I'm the sort of person who gets distracted by mistakes, if you don't then you probably won't mind. Then there were the characters. Eden seems to devolve from a semi grounded teenager to an immature child. However, that is how she is treated so it's no wonder really. Professor Saint spent the first part of the book getting on my nerves with his superiority and arrogance but then seemed to have a personality transplant and I found myself liking him. Juan spent a good portion of the book deserving a slap (in my opinion) but then suddenly developed a backbone and became someone with potential.
Eden Matthews is on her last boarding school. Every other one, she has destroyed. Fire, flood, earthquake.....she has done it. But this boarding school is different. Her...outburts....are treated like they're normal. And she has caught the attention of Kiran. One of the hottest guys in school.
But all is not what is seems. Eden finds something out about herself and Kiran that will blow her mind and put her in extreme danger.
All I have to say is "WOW" to this book. From the beginning, it was fantastic. When Eden and Kiran finally admit their feelings....O.M.G.!!!!!!! I literally cried in some spots.
Will I read this book again? Yes
