Wild, Crazy Hearts is the fourth book in The Bradens & The Montgomerys: Pleasant Hill - Oak Falls series. This book can be read as a standalone or as part of the larger Love in Bloom series.

Trace is a sweet and sexy cowboy that loves life, spending time with his family and having his mustang by his side. Brindle is the baby in the Montgomery family and has always been known as the "wild child". Trace and Brindle have been in love with each other forever but just never knew how to go about growing past their thoughts that neither one wanted a committed relationship. After an impromptu trip to Paris to attempt to find herself and a surprise, Brindle comes to the realization that she loves Trace. After returning home and starting a huge lie, she is forced to fix her lie and become someone new. Trace loves his mustang more than anything and is over the moon that he can finally show her what she truly means to him on his terms instead of hers. #TeamTrindle

I truly loved the way Melissa Foster takes you through Trace and Brindle’s past and gives us a view into what led them to be the wonderful and complex couple. I smiled, laughed and even had tears in my eyes during this book.

Melissa Foster has proven once again why she is my go to author for sweet, heartwarming and steamy romances. She created a story filled with relatable characters, which focused on friendship, love and family.


Wild Crazy Hearts is Brindle and Traces story, whom I met in Trails of Love. Do not worry you do not need the books in order as they can be read out of order. These two has an on and off, uncommitted relationship since they were teenagers. So they fight, so they breakup, so they get back together. It was enough to give you a permanent whiplash.


Brindle went to Paris, to gain some perspective as it relates to her feelings for Trace. After a couple of months, she realized she loved him and wanted more than a physical relationship. She returned home, hoping to build and cement her relationship with Trace. She returned with an unexpected package, which left Trace speechless and angry. His response reeked of immaturity. I wished I could knock some sense into his head. Brindle’s response has a result was not any better. The lies and secrets were overwhelming. It took them sometime, but they eventually got their act together. At this point, their love for each other shined through the pages. I enjoyed watching them work out the kinks in their relationship. 


Brindle is stubborn, rebellious, and independent. If you push her, she pushes right back. Trace is protective and puts her needs above his. They blended so well together making them perfect for each other. I liked that he never tried to change her, but (in the words of John Legend) embraced all her curves, her edges and her perfect imperfections. Being a private person, I was not too keen on how the community was all up in their business, but I guess that is what small towns are all about. 


Conclusion/Recommendation

Fans of small town romance, served with sweetness and heat will enjoy this latest offering from Melissa Foster.

This book overlaps with the ending of Trails of Love but this story is about Brindle and Trace.

I was excited to hear more about Brindle and Trace. Brindle and Trace have been on and off since they were 13. They know each other inside out but these two cannot commit. Both are too scared to show each other how much they really mean to each other.

Trace may act like a jack the lad but it's clear that there's only ever been one girl for him and that's Brindle. Brindle has always been scared of commitment and has a rebellious nature if you try to pin her down she will kick ad buck until you set her free.

Melissa does an excellent job of showing us how communication is key in a relationship. Trace and Brindle really work on this throughout the book and make great strides in this area. Melissa shows us how we can improve without changing who we are.

I adored the horse riding chapter at the end although I'm still a little mad at Trace. The epilogue was beautiful too.

Melissa once again found a way to worm two more characters into my full to the brim heart! I loved how the whole town rallied around these two and were rooting for them. #TeamTrindle!

I can't wait to see what Melissa brings us next.
