Werewolf in Denver was super fun! It all starts with two of my favorite romance tropes: enemies-to-lovers and being stranded together! There's a special conference for Weres being held at Kate's family's resort, and she's been sent to pick up Duncan (Colin from the previous book's brother) from the airport. A blizzard hits, causing Kate to run off the road, but luckily a friend's cabin is nearby. The two break in and get cozy before being rescued the following morning and making their way to the conference and being enemies once again.

My favorite part of Werewolf in Denver was the social media and blogging aspect! Kate is the head of an organization (HOWL) that wants Weres to stick with mating with other Weres to preserve their species and stay hidden from humans. Duncan is rallying for mixing with humans (WOOF), since love is love, and they may learn a thing or two from another species. The two of them have some great banter through Sniffer (Twitter for Weres!) as well as face-to-face. They also use their blogs as an additional platform for debate. I loved the inclusion of Sniffs, as well as blog posts from a gossip blogger. It was just a ton of fun! #WereCon2012

I also really liked the peek into Were politics. The majority of Werewolf in Denver takes place at the first official Worldwide Werewolf conference, where they finally assemble a council and a mission statement. There's plenty of tension, since Kate and Duncan's followers are there hoping to further their own causes. Of course, there's a third group which emerges after Kate and Duncan combine efforts and try to appease both sides. While all three groups have legit concerns, I'd have to say that I'm firmly a Woofer! Hooray for Were and human mixing!

There was one problem that I had with Werewolf in Denver and that was one of Kate's philosophies on sex. She mentions a few times that condoms are ridiculous, and restrict sexual exploration. Weres don't need condoms because they're resistant to disease and females can only become pregnant when mated. Similarly, males cannot get a female (human or Were) pregnant unless they're mated, but unless he reveals himself, he'll likely have to use a condom with a human partner. While I know all of this is part of the world building, I was still bothered by Kate being so adamant against condoms. I'm all about safe sex, and could have done without this part, since at times it felt like a promotion of unsafe sex. Even though I know it wasn't.

In the end, I do think Werewolf in Denver is my favorite of the series. I just really loved the social media angle, and it was a lot of fun to read the "live" Sniffs and blog posts in addition to the actual story. I also really liked how Kate and Duncan went from kind of enemiers to loves and their banter!

I picked up this audiobook since it was on special last month and I have a review copy of the next book, Book #5, Werewolf in Alaska.

This was a lovely story of Kate Stillman and Duncan MacDowell, who were are opposite sides of a debate whether werewolves should stick were werewolves for mating or mate with humans. They have come together for a live debate at the first werewolf conference being held at the Stillman Lodge in Denver.

Through their back and forth blogging and tweets over the past year, their battle of wits and wills as apparently increased their interests in each other and their mutual respect. Once they are together in the same room, those passions overflow sexually and in a mutually agreed 'what happens in the cabin, stays in the cabin' mentality, they indulge in those interests which leads to far more than either intended.

I liked the author's writing style and I think I will be adding this to my Catch Up by Audiobook Experiment since we meet most of the characters from the prior books as well as get a foundation for Jake Hunter who is the hero of Book #5.

It was very enjoyable story.
