Jill St. John has always wanted Bryan to notice her, but Bryan has kept his distance because he knows she’s too young and innocent for him. When Bryan returns home to attend his sister’s wedding, Jill convinces him to spend some time with her. He doesn’t want Jill to get hurt, so from the beginning, Bryan is up front and let’s her know he isn’t interested in a long-term relationship. His sole focus is on football and he doesn’t have room for anything else in his life.
Cari Quinn writes a provocative story about a man struggling to overcome his issues. Bryan is a man used to taking what he wants and not worrying about the consequences. Jill on the other hand, has lived a sheltered, quiet life and is a good hearted person. Bryan doesn’t want to corrupt Jill, but she keeps pushing him for more. Bryan has never met anyone like Jill; she accepts his imperfections, even though he can be thoughtless and has a hard time sharing his feelings. Bryan knows he doesn’t deserve someone like Jill, but he just can’t seem to resist her.
