Sparking the Fire lighted my fire ;) It was very hot. But also very tender and real

This was an okay end to an enjoyable series. It started out hot with the original meeting between the characters but lost some of the flare. This series had a great family dynamic but ended with a toot rather than a bang.

After being injured during a rescue in the previous book, Wyatt is assigned as a consulting for a local movie shoot, starring Molly Cade. The two share a history that was scorching hot and delicious to hear about. The chemistry was sizzling between them and I loved Meader’s telling of their story.

Wyatt is the calm force and protector of the family, unlike his siblings he avoids the limelight. I loved getting the details of his childhood, brother and history with Molly. Did I mention he is bearded throughout much of the story and ladies the man is F-I-N-E fine. Molly is a force to be reckoned with and seeing these two go head to head was a blast. Their emotions and actions felt genuine. Meader led me through a gamut of emotions from laughter to swoons.

The romance was sweet as these two worked out their baggage and discovered what really matters. Their interaction was fun and filled with snark, head-butting and “awe” moments. Oh, man the kisses were Hot. Meader kept the drama and angst on the low side while allowing both characters to grow. The story flowed naturally, allowing me to slip into the story and become a part of their world. I so want to be Dempsey. They are loud, loving and will always have your six.

Meader of course gives us more time with the Dempseys and even introduces a new character who added warmth and highlighted how tight this family truly is. I loved every moment from outrageous Gage to talks of pop culture movies.

For fans of siblings, family and red-hot romances with men and women in uniform the Hot in Chicago series and Sparking the Fire are sure to heat up your nights and melt your heart.
