As someone who is pushing 30 and living at home with her parents (although not for same reasons as Lucy), this book certainly hit close to home!  I found this story to be quite funny at times and I found myself being taken on Lucy's journey as she struggles to find herself.  The Australianisms and the Aussie slang throughout this book were both familiar and at times laugh out loud funny, which a book hasn't been able to make me do for quite a while.

Small-town Australia (although Rockhampton isn't really a small town compared to the one I grew up in) was very well portrayed, and it's just as nutty as Daniels makes it seem!  Despite this, I did think that this book tried to achieve too much in too short a span.  It packed way too much into its 320 pages, and I was getting whiplash at times with all the changes and life events that were happening.  It was too rushed and while it was a fast paced read, I struggled to get into it at times as a result - 3 stars.
