And I totally knew who the killer was. How did no one else suspect that? Seriously?!
Ok, all that aside, I gobbled these books up like candy. Delicious, soap-opera ish, drama-llama filled addition.
Still never cared much for the female narrator.

But well, I fell right back into the world of the Royals and still loved all of these characters. Ella is awesome, Reed and Easton are very hot.. But I do think it lost some of it's spark.. Maybe because they were together and that lost some tension? But even though the romance and hotness was a bit less for me, it was more realistic, and I did not see the major plot twist at the end coming at all.. But it was more.. meek, subdued? Less thrilling and way less hot then the other books in this series.
Do I feel satisfied with the ending ? Mostly yes.. stuff is solved and taken care of.. But I kind of have a But all in all an awesome series, full of tragedy and drama, hot guys and cliffhangers. Very enjoyable and totally worth it.

The life and times of the rich and the famous
Well, this series has shaken up some of my childhood dreams and wishes. Look, I will try not to blame Erin Watt (or the dastardly duo behind Erin Watt) too much, but someone has to take responsibility for blasting my beliefs that the rich and famous have it easy. How dare they take away my dreams of becoming a Princess living a life of luxury. What right did they have to show me that Prince Charming isn’t perfect? How can they live with themselves knowing that my dreams of living in a beautiful Palace have been Twisted? So, my childhood wishes and dreams are gone but at least I can firmly say that I learned my lesson…the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
I started Twisted Palace nervous and excited. How will the story play out? Who did it? How will they prove it? Will the new face in the game change everything?
Reed is on the hot seat. I felt such overwhelming sympathy for Reed from the very first page of Twisted Palace. This is a guy who has been self-absorbed, egotistical and a hot head for years. He is finally starting to see the error of his ways and loves that Ella, by his side, has made him a better person. The Royal family again must stand together. Will their lives ever be normal? Reed knows that his father fixes problems by throwing money at it, but this time his money is useless. His past is about to punch him in the gut.
Ella loves Reed with her whole heart. Seeing him so devastated by the events leading up to now, is making her anxious. She wants to help and not just sit back letting other people work towards a positive outcome. What if there isn’t a positive outcome? Is she wrong to have unquestionable faith in Reed? Should she trust that everything is exactly how Reed says it is? All Ella can do is stand by her man and hold his hand.
The Royals has been a series that surprised me from the start. I am not a reader who goes looking for Young Adult stories. When I heard who the authors were, I admit it did sway me towards giving it a try. Honestly, I still stand by what I said in Broken Prince that this series should be changed from YA to YBAM - Young Body Adult Mind. Yes, there were times that made me pull my hair out with frustration at their immaturity, but there were also times that amazed me with their maturity, especially Ella’s.
There is still the nastiness from their peers, the craziness of their extreme wealth and disgust with what people are willing to do to get their way. What was different in this story, is Ella’s realisation that she is different from the other kids in more ways than just her previous poverty. She has had the freedom that most 17-year-olds dream of. Ella hasn’t had to deal with curfews, rules and restrictions because most of her childhood was spent acting the parent instead of the kid. It did make me stop and reflect on whether it was right to put these restrictions on her so late in the game. While it seemed like torture for her, would it eventually be seen (by her) as a way for the adults in her life to show their love and care? Hmmm…it’s a tricky one.
When the cards are all laid out and I have finally seen “who done it”, am I happy?
Somewhat…sorta…kinda. The ending of Twisted Palace did seem a little rushed but I'm happy with the way the story concluded. I really enjoyed getting to know and see both Ella and Reed grow and mature. These two are still really young but you can't help but believe that with what they've faced already, there's a good chance they can make it to the end.
BUT...
It seemed as if the dealer still has a card up his sleeve. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of The Royals.

I've been highly anticipating Twisted Palace since the major cliff-hanger in Broken Prince. It's no surprise that when it landed on my Kindle, I dropped every book I was reading and started it. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I was expecting. I buddy-read this with Sarah and Lacey and I'm so glad I did. We were texting back and forth all of our thoughts. I needed the moral support since I was very frustrated and upset.
Things I didn't like:
1. Broken Prince had two intense cliff-hangers. First, there's Brooke's death and Reed is the prime suspect. The other major cliffie: Steve is actually alive! Since I mentioned Steve, I'll start with my feelings towards him. HATE! Pure hate for the man. He comes back from the dead and now wants to play father to Ella by enforcing all these rules to her. I was furious! I wanted him gone.
2. I was also frustrated with Ella. Where was the spunky, badass, outspoken Ella? I probably only saw her once in this book and I missed her. She let Steve control her life and she accepted it even though she was mad. I couldn't deal with her at all.
3. Where was the fun of the previous books?! This book was heavy on frustration and desperation. It was also very stressful. Many times I wanted to stop reading but I couldn't. I had to find out what was happening. But I was missing the fun stuff.
4. Something Sarah mentioned and I totally agree with her is that the authors should have taken more time to write this book by pushing the publication date for later on. The thing is, a lot of things were rushed while others were beyond sloppy. It was disappointing. My two feelings through the whole book were frustration and stress.
Things I did like:
1. It was so freaking addictive! Once I sat down to read, I had to read it all. I went to sleep late so I could finish this book.
2. Easton! My baby! His personality hasn't changed since book 1 so I was very happy about that. He's still fun, making jokes whenever he can. AND! There was something included in this story that hinted to him having his own book! *fingers tightly crossed*
3. Reed's character has come a long way. In book 1 I wanted to punch him. In this book, all I wanted to do was wrap him up in a blanket and hug him. His vulnerable side was shown even more in this book! Plus, the way he treats Ella now is so heartbreakingly beautiful.
4. Even though a lot of things took a back seat so the story could focus on Steve and Ella, and a little on Reed's case, the authors still managed to give more light to other characters such as Jordan, Val, Wade, and even Dinah! I do wish Jordan and Ella had fixed things. Throughout the book, it was shown that Jordan had a sense of humor when it came to things Ella said. I think these two girls could have been friends. Val was great, as always. She's such a great friend and supporter to Ella.
5. The Royals were so incredibly protective of Ella. It was so endearing to see them become united. I wish this dynamic had been shown more, but it was still done very well.
Sometimes I still can't believe that we all hated each other when I first got here. Reed was determined to destroy me. His brothers alternately taunted or ignored me. [...] And now I can't imagine not having the Royals in my life.
Overall, Twisted Palace was slightly disappointing for me, but it's still scandalous, addictive and very exciting!

Brooke was dead. Reed was accused. Steven was back. Those three things were enough to keep me up all night wondering WTF was going to happen next. This intricately woven mess kept me guessing: Who killed Brooke? Who was setting up Reed? And what was up with Steve? But more importantly, these three things helped the Royals (as least those under Callum's roof) to remember the true meaning of family.
The Royals had forgotten what it meant to be family. The death of Maria altered everyone's perception about what family meant and what they did for one another. Ella brought that meaning back to them, especially in this book. They rallied behind Ella and Reed. When things looked darkest, the vowed to take care of one another. It was nice to see, especially when I always suspected that these selfish men weren't really that selfish.
Everything tied up fairly neatly at the end. It came about rather quickly (I would have liked a little more groveling and ass kicking), but it was a satisfying ending to such a hot mess. I'm hoping this isn't the last time we see the Royals clan. It feels like there are many more stories there.
