This book was so so cute! I loved the story between Katie and Cassidy. What I really loved was how easy the story was to follow and honestly, how predictably it ended! It was so fun to read and a wonderful break from all the difficult things in the world.

Katie, a Kentucky transplant in NYC, has recently been dumped by her fiancee when she meets Cassidy. They are both lawyers working on the opposite sides of a corporate law case. Things happen, and they fall in love!

I struggled with how to rate this one. On one hand, it was a fast, enjoyable read that I didn't want to put down. On the other, it was filled with stereotypes and cliches, and it was lacking character development. The plot was interesting, but the characters needed to be fleshed out a bit more.

Katie has recently broken up with her fiancé after discovering he's been cheating on her with a mutual friend. The story opens with her dealing with the aftermath of that, and she meets Cassidy pretty early in the book. Things progress quickly and Katie is suddenly questioning her sexuality after finding herself surprisingly interested in Cassidy.

Things move fast, though that's to be expected from a standalone book. I do feel like things that should have been explored a little more were glossed over at times, to the detriment of how realistic the book felt. As a straight woman suddenly finding herself in a relationship with a woman, I feel like Katie would have wanted to talk about it a little more with Cassidy, but the issue is never really brought up.

I was a little surprised that bisexuality wasn't mentioned at all, given that Katie had only dated men in the past and was recently engaged to be married to one, yet suddenly was interested in a romantic relationship with a woman. It would have made sense for her to question it a little more than just "Am I a lesbian?" and then leaving it at that.

All in all, I would recommend this is you're looking for something light featuring an f/f romance.

When Katie Met Cassidy is a different romance, with a different ‘finding yourself’ angle completely. I loved how Katie defended herself to Cassidy’s friends by saying there was no label she felt comfortable with - she didn’t know if she liked girls, but she knew she liked Cassidy.
