Nin reminds me of Andrew Wyeth’s quote about his technique: “You can’t be nice around things. Like painting a nude— there’s got to be some ugliness there.” I don’t disagree, even though some of these stories bordered on too much. And some weren’t so much stories as abrupt vignettes.
